Why are TP's capped at 5000 metres ?

Post by Tonyh » Tue Oct 24, 2006 11:36 am

Having recently flown the Diamond badge task from BOD1's Condor Tasks Databse and found wave to 6800 metres, 1800m of which I had to lose to get round the next TP 5 kms ahead, I wondered if there was any reason why there is a 5000m limit on TP's.

I was looking forward to a 250km final glide including Mont Blanc Gipfel near the end :D

It's the default behavior of Condor, when you create a task and add TP, the default (and max) value for TP altitude is 5000m.

Thanks, BOD1, I know, just wonder why.

It's a great task by the way, the highest I've been in Condor yet. I really enjoyed it.

Don't you need oxygen up there :?:

In RL I would have needed to be on oxygen for about 3 hours on this task. And some nice warm clothing.

But in Condor from the comfort and warmth of my spare room and able to hit the 'P' key whenever I needed a P or a drink, a different matter.

OK, I'll do it again then.

To make it realistic I'll wait for a freezing cold day, turn off my heating and wear all my thermal gear. I'll also put on an oxygen mask, fill a water bottle with a tube to my mouth, and last but not least, wear a 'male external catheter'.

Will that be OK ?
