Server for beginners
Server for beginners
Hello everybody,
I´m new in this forum and new to Condor too.
I´m looking for a server on which rookies are welcome and maybe
get some help. I have got a few hours of offline experience and I think my flight basics are OK now and (hopefully) I won´t kill someone in multiplayer mode.
Thanks for your help,
see you online soon
Timo

Well, then I am going to host a easy ridge task for you, and others who join ..
I will use one I have hosted before. 60 km, Slovenia. It can be done fast or/and slow. You the boss. I think that I make it a airborn start, because the wind could be too strong for beginners in tow.
Looks like I will be busy the next days.. But on the weekend I'm free.
Please post here when you have time.
Regards

Hi Funkman,
You'll enjoy flying online. I've had Condor about 1 month now and after a week or so I started flying online. Now I rarely fly offline.
The best thing to do is just go for it, and see how you get on. On my first attempts if I did finish a task I was pretty slow, sometimes crossing the line with thousands of metres to spare. Others online are very friendly and encouraging, often waiting for you to finish before disconnecting.
And to Dom and all those who host tasks a big Thank You, you provide us with a lot of fun.

That would say 8 pm german time, or? ..
Here's some tipp's and information of the task
The map. 6 turnpoints
Whatch out for clouds. They could be near the best part of the ridge
Turn on the PDA page 4, to find the best liftzone
You will have enough time to get above 2300 meters
Be sure to enter the startwindow from the correct side. Look at PDA map, or follow the other pilots
After 5 km of the start, the first sink will appear, fly fast to get out of the area fastest as possible
Watch out at 2. TP. Many pilots crashed here before. Be sure to stay high if you too low the wind will push you into the rocks.
When turned 2. TP, fly fast to the next TP, cause there's sink.
Once turned 3. TP, you will have good lift, and if you fly slow, you will gain much altitude.
Two more TP's to turn, and the next stop will be to end the race. If you flew slow at the good part of the ridge, you will be much more higher than this:
Then make a nice landing. Watch out, there's 35 km/h sidewind..
And dont forget the water!

Hi Dom,
Your task looks really intersting. Do you plan to post it on Condor Task Database?
The issue for me is that I'm GTM-6 so not very easy, except if you want to stay awake late tonight

Did it!
Very good task. I am a newbee in ridge and really enjoy your task. I must admit I crashed at the first try
And my time for my second attemp is not very good : 00:25:03.
I also try to update my flight track to Condor Database but I got the following message:
which is strange as I didn't touch any settings
