Hello!
Please take a look at cc results:
https://www.condor.club/ftrrank/0/?fpl= ... 8abc85e9e2
Here are some SCI stats:
(BTW, notice - as weather was 'weak' some pilots dumped ballast, some was flying without, so it influences mCR etc)
As usually: FTRs > CoFliCo > IGCs > SCI 2.63b click to enlarge mCR: average climb rate in m/s for the task | mGN: mean gliding number (gliding number without influence of wind)
mIAS: mean indicated airspeed (the speed you see on your speedometer, the real speed is higher depending on the altitude) | nLift: number of lifts
DeltaGN: additional gliding number (difference between mGN and GN of speed polar) | Vmet: average of rising and sinking air
AltLift: average climbed in a lift | Detour: Detour in percent, only gliding passages are regarded.
If someone would like to have all ftrs to refly with ghosts or igcs for deeper analyse etc. Drop me a msg.

Re: Out Of Series CC - Thursdays 20.00 CEST [18.00 UTC]
Thanks Pit for the stats, always very interesting.
I try to learn something about of that every time. If I see some numbers in the stats:
I had 17 lifts (nLift) with an average climb (AltLift) of 273 m = 4.641 m, the first (and the last) one on the result list had 15 lifts with 213 m (214 m), that's 3.195 m. So if I understand right I used more than 1.400 m more height for the whole task. That's a big difference, round 30 %.
My speed (mIAS) is the highest of all, 166 km/h vs. 157 km/h of the first one, 152 km/h of the second one. So it looks like I destroyed the height with speed.
So far so good.
My average climb rate (aCR) is 1,45 m/s, I used MC with 1,5 m/s, a while a little bit more, 1,8 and 1,6 m/s, because of feeling better lifts, average shown on PDA up to 2,2 m/s. Usually I fly often a little bit slower than the MC shows on the PDA. What do I wrong, that I'm flying too fast? Was MC of 1,5 too high? If yes, how can I find the best way to set the MC?
On my final glide from TP3 I had a DDH -50 m, thought that would be enough, flew nearly exact after MC but lost DDH. Had to take three circles on the way home to come back to the DDH -50 m. May be I read the instruments wrong, thought it's nearly impossible. Surely it's the same reason for flying too fast.
I had such an experience one day when I forgot the gear, but it's impossible that time, because the speed is the killing factor. When I landed i took the gear out and it was out, not in. I'm looking for the failure.
Thanks for every hint to get better next time

Re: Out Of Series CC - Thursdays 20.00 CEST [18.00 UTC]
Found that sentence from Pit after long searching (remembered it, but wanted to see the text again)
"PS2
Pilots with negative values of DeltaGN and Vmet please consider to turn on 'Vertical sync' in C2 Setup/graphics page.
Who knows - maybe it can help to solve this problem, so worth to give it a try. Of course smooth flying is also needed."
I have Vertical sync on in Condor and in NVIDIA too, turned it off now in NVIDIA, so it's only on in Condor, but have no idea if that could help. Smoother flying maybe is the option

Re: Out Of Series CC - Thursdays 20.00 CEST [18.00 UTC]
Hello PK6,
what about your ballast? Did you dump some water on flight? This change your polar and make it difficult, to compare your flight. You write about your speed (mIAS). I think, a difference of +/-10 km/h has only a small influence on the performance (less than 1 %). But a great influence has the climb rate (mCR). The first pilot has 1.77 m/s, you 1.45 m/s. If you had climbed the 4.641 m with 1.77 m/s you had saved 378 seconds. Another point is the difference in Vmet, which results in a better gliding number. But all this is influenced by the water ballast.
If you miss some height in final approach (although you fly correct McCready speed) this indicates indeed on a sink bug. But if you have synchronized the monitor with Condor this bug should be eliminated. Maybe you have flown through an unexpected sink area.
There are 2 tools which you can use for flight analyse and comparisons, ShowCondorIGC (SCI) and ShowGliderDat (SGD). Both are freeware. You can download it from 'https://virtualsoaring.eu/download'. Btw, PIT uses SCI for making his stats. If you have more questions, write me a PM (in German).

Re: Out Of Series CC - Thursdays 20.00 CEST [18.00 UTC]
Thanks for your answer Fox9.
I flew full with water until the end. I did it first of all to train flying with water, because usually I fly without. The bad climb rate results of the combination of ballast (20 % ?) and my "skill" (80 % ?). I know that this is one of the most important keys for me. There is still a long way to go ...

Re: OSCC :: Out Of Series CC :: Thursdays 20.00 CEST [18.00 UTC]
Hello all!
PLEASE READ SCENERY ANNOUNCEMENT
While waiting for NCC (Norway Condor Competition) Std Class in Elverum Starmoen (Sept 16 and 23 - official practice days),
we'd like to propose a few informal races over three different sceneries.
Announcing them now, so you'll have time to download landscapes.
First, I'd say mountainous, flight will take place in Rieti - Centro_Italia: https://www.condor.club/viewscenery/242/?id=317
2nd task will be over WestGermany3 - you should have this scenery as it was used in our contests before.
Finally, three days in Montlucon - France_Sud2: https://www.condor.club/viewscenery/242/?id=300
BTW In Montlucon will take place the 36th WGC in Club, Standard and 15m Class from August 8th to August 20th.
(So it is also a good candidate for one of our next competitions inspired by RL events.)
Please check if you have those landscapes installed for next weeks.
See you online.
