CoTASA (V3.0) VNE alarm, horizon, etc
Re: CoTASA V2.2.1 (VNE alarm, horizon, etc)
Re: CoTASA V2.2.1 (VNE alarm, horizon, etc)
It is not good that kotasa has the ability to run in multiple parallel processes. Is there anything you can do about this in future releases?From time to time CoTASA fails to exit properly and enters an infinite loop.
Re: CoTASA V2.2.1 (VNE alarm, horizon, etc)
CoTASA does not run in multiple parallel threads, it is individual CoTASA processes that have been started independently.

Re: CoTASA V2.2.1 (VNE alarm, horizon, etc)
?????
hi Marc, or anybody. Can you help.
Today i did a 1st flight, everything ok, Cotasa working perfect as usual.
I did a 2nd flight and noticed the the framerate dropped and the picture "stuttered", so i restarted my pc.
After restart Condor worked fine, BUT Cotasa did not recieve any data from Condor anymore. ????
i deleted Cotasa and reinstalled it . Even reinstalled Condor. But the same. Cotasa starts as usual, i see the AH and the "waintig for data"
Condor UDP
[General]
Enabled=1
[Connection]
Host=127.0.0.1
Port=55278
[Misc]
SendIntervalMs=100
ExtendedData=0
ExtendedData1=1
LogToFile=0
Cotasa ini:
# UDP port to listen to (Condor default is 55278)
Port=55278
# UDP Port forwarding (default= none)
Forward Port=
# UDP Port forwarding IP address (default : 127.0.0.1 = localhost)
Forward Address=
WIN10 Defender is deactivated
Does anybody has an idea ?
thanks a lot

Re: CoTASA V2.2.1 (VNE alarm, horizon, etc)
Have you recently updated Windows ? I suspect some firewall problem
Have you tried running CoTaSa as admin ?

Re: CoTASA V2.2.1 (VNE alarm, horizon, etc)
Hi Marc,
no, no Win Update recently, Win Firewall is turned off, i ran it as admin.
But, i got it fixed, though i don't really know what the reason was/is.
After some restarts of the PC i tried to start condor and suddenly no inputs were possible (mouse,keyboard),
Disconnected the PC and restarted again, Condor and cotasa were working now but after a minute or so the screen went black.
(it happens quite often, that the pc starts, but the monitor stay black)
I guess there is something wrong with my hardware.
Conclusion: nothing wrong with cotasa. The problem with cotasa was only the symptom, not the cause

Re: CoTASA V2.2.1 (VNE alarm, horizon, etc)
Version 2.3 beta is available for testing : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pOHUHJ ... sp=sharing
Ground speed is displayed (if selected), no bells and whistles
The documentation has not been updated, and there is no installer program yet.
I would recommend to install it as a separate version for the time being

Re: CoTASA V2.2.1 (VNE alarm, horizon, etc)
Works great!
TYVM!
PS
As it is needed only for start mostly - could there be option to turn it off? With keyboard shortcut?

Re: CoTASA V2.2.1 (VNE alarm, horizon, etc)
In a future version, yes. I actually did that very quickly this morning
Or maybe as dgtfer suggested, toggle the alarm between ground speed (start) and VNE (rest of flight, esp. final glide)

VNE (rest of flight, esp. final glide)
Sure, idea is not bad, but some - lowlands pilots - are never flying even close to Vne.
But toggle could be to configurable e.g. GS to IAS...

Re: CoTASA V2.2.1 (VNE alarm, horizon, etc)
Following the release of Hangar Update 19, I have updated the glider data for CoTASA, they are available for download
http://condorutill.fr/
No need to update CoTASA
Search for "Glider data" below the CoTASA icon, download the file and unzip it in the Settings folder

New beta version is available (same download link)Bre901 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 9:44 amVersion 2.3 beta is available for testing : https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pOHUHJ ... sp=sharing
Ground speed is displayed (if selected), no bells and whistles
It is now possible to toggle a speed display in the lower-left corner of the AH window : Nothing/TAS/Ground (default key ="<")
These speeds can be displayed even if they are not displayed in the text window.
As there is very little space available, the only indication is the text colour, make sure the ones used for TAS and ground speed are different enough.
New field in .ini file :
Code: Select all
#Toggle HUD Speed display (default="<")
Key HUD Speed=
I would recommend to install it as a separate version for the time being (possibly overwriting the previous beta)
Comments and suggestions are always welcome
