Hello Bre901,

For when you have time, I have attached zipped file might help for AAT races. I have included a .fpl from Gliding New Zealand and the .lkt file I edited to suit.
I guess I'll release CoTaCo V3.0 as it is in the coming days and I'll keep the AAT for a future version 3.1

It's the pain back again....

Ah, Your Worship. Me thinks the problem with the PTUJ Start Point was that its coordinates came from the Condor .ftp file via CoTaCo, and not a LK waypoint file. In this particular case, I have no Waypoint File selected at all in the LK8000 device.

Of course, I will owe you another beer if I am wrong AGAIN! 🍻

I owe you a beer this time your Honor

My diagnosis was a good start, but the problem is indeed in CoTaCo. It never showed up before because when converting tasks to XCSoar, the coordinates are converted on the fly, without checking the data in the .cup or .apt files.

For LK8000 the data are taken from those files and the search is not stringent enough : in the Slovenia landscape the waypoint located in the town center of Ptuj (in the .cup file) has exactly the same name as the Ptuj airport (in the .apt file). As the .cup file is searched first, guess who gets selected ?

A bit too late to start coding tonight, I'll fix that tomorrow.

Hello Bre901 - Your Worship,

Without wishing to "to teach you to suck eggs", and I may well be wrong, but is there any need to reference the .Cup or .Apt files at all? I notice that many of the New Zealand Gliding Tasks use start points that are not in the Condor .Cup or .Apt files, but are "stand-alone" entries.

Couldn't you create the CoTaCo - LK8000 task waypoints purely from the .Fpl file and ignore Condor .Cup and .Apt files completely? If so, that would get around the naming of Airports/Waypoints completely, and possibly escape from some Task-Setter's errors.....

Cheers

This is the way it was done for XCSoar and also for LK8000 if the waypoint couldn't be found in the .cup and .apt files.

That search had been added to be able to get the extra information available (runway length, etc) into the LK8000 task file.
As we say in French : "le mieux est l'ennemi du bien"

From now on, the coordinates will always be converted from (X,Y,Z) read in the .fpl file.
Other information will be taken from the .cup and .apt files, if available.

Beta 5 version is available for downloads : https://drive.google.com/file/d/11sLcjk ... sp=sharing

Magnificent, Bre901,

That worked very well on today's flight plan for Gliding New Zealand, and also resolves the PTUJ issue on the other flight plan.

Thank you for all your hard work. It is very much appreciated.

Cheers

I did some minor changes on the XCSoar side, normally nothing should have changed on the LK8000 part

Download link unchanged
