USB3.0 Error Oculus Rift S

Post by Crakob » Wed Feb 19, 2020 9:23 am

Hi,
I gave VR a second chance (tried the rift a year ago) and bought the Rift S now

i tried all night yesterday, but I could not get it to work, because it always said that my USB Port is not compatible. (I tried the on board 3.0 ports as well as the PCIe USB3.0 card i have)

The "old" Rift worked fine !

Strange, sometime in the first part of the setup-process, both connections (displayport and USB) were marked "green".

1070 GTX
16GB Ram
i7 Processor
The mainboard is quite old though, but has at least 2 USB3.0 ports. Gigabit GA-PH67A-D3-B3 from 2011

Any suggestions ?
Thanks a lot

Good morning
I met the same problem, some cards extension do not work very well.
I changed my card mother, I bought ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING.
I passed to Windows 10 pro.
Since all walk very well...

Solved:

it was the PCIe USB extension card i had.

i bought an new one. Inatek KTU3FR-4P. And that did not work at first as well . Restart of the Computer did not help as well as un/replugging the oculus USB and displayport. Restart via the oculus App (Beta mode) did not help either.

I than killed all oculus tasks via taskmanager, started the app and voila, oculus showed the USB as ok.

Now everything is working.
