Blurry in the distance Oculus Rift S

Post by WillVM » Sat Dec 14, 2019 9:49 pm

I just bought an oculus rift s. The setup with condor is just fantastic. BUT I read about blurry, fuzzy instruments and if you lean forward it gets better.
I can read every instrument perfect. In my case the distance gets very blurry. The landscape looks definitely better on my normal screen. Is it normal?

No, I don't wear any glasses.
I conclude this is not normal for an Oculus Rift S and you see everything normal in the distance with your oculus rift s. Correct?

The picture is not as clear as on a monitor, but I would not use the word 'blurry'? What frame rate are you getting? Which graphics card??

Hmm, same card as I used with the original Rift. How blurry is blurry?? Is it still playable?

As I don't have Oculus rift I'm unsure how the graphic settings profiles work. If Oculus Rift is using something different to the settings used to display on your monitor maybe your issue lies there?

If Oculus does have a separate profile to reduce blurries you usually up the level of anistropic filtering. Minimum of 8x but 16x is what most will be using and I think your GPU will work perfectly OK set at 16x

If you take a screen shot with the ‘S’ key does it represent what you are seeing in your headset?

Hi , try "oculus tray tool", you can google that. start it (as admin) before running oculus and condor. set condor graphik on MSAA 2 , and traytool supersampling around 1.5 . try some variation of that
