VR - NEWS & UPDATES
Re: Condor 2 VR
I'm aware of oculus debug tool and have used it for the same reason as you - early days of VR support in AC, but as you've said, many people don't know this or don't have oculus at all. Not sure how it's implemented on vive with steamvr, especially if people will most probably have to use revive or some other hack since the developers stated, they will support oculusvr api only.
And I definitely agree with in-game SS slider or something, just for the sake of creature comfort and to allow experimentation with image fidelity for less tech savvy users of condor. Even with no VR that is.
SuperSampling could bring more detail to low ppi screens... mainly big low resolution TV's or projectors in homebuilt cockpits.

Re supersampling in Steam VR , yes there is a supersampling option in settings and it works as a multiplier if you are using Tray Tool SS settings , so I just use it at 1.0X in Steam VR .
Re: Condor 2 VR
For developer of special VR software for V1 I am interested too !!!!!!
Is your software working too with CV1 Oculus Rift? (but I have old DK2 too) Condor V1 in VR - dream.

Great news in the patch details that just came out for Condor 2's first patch, 2.01... besides some crucial bug fixes and turning on anisotropic filtering by default, there was this little encouraging bit added to the notes:
For all the Virtual Reality fans: we have started the implementation of the Oculus Rift support so we hope you will soon be able to enjoy Condor 2 with your 3D goggles.

Willing to be a tester for VR. I use an oculus DK2. Have experience in testen since i work in a company that builds websites.
Re: Condor 2 VR
Great to see VR is being looked at, unfortunately I'm a vive user myself so rift support won't help.
Will there be vive support in future?

Re: Condor 2 VR
I have htc vive too.
normally if it's done right, it should support both.
just like dcs / x-plane and others...

Re: Condor 2 VR
I'm sure there will. They only recently became aware of OpenVR (not SteamVR), and that it does not at all req being distributed by Steam to utilize. In light of that I'm sure they will support that SDK, because between Vive, WMR and many other headsets more than half of VR HMD in circulation are not Rift and use that SDK.
It didn't help that early on people kept conflating the issue of Steam distribution with supporting VR, but the two are completely different subjects and the entire point of OpenVR was to prevent 'walled garden' access in the first place once Oculus was bought by Facebook.
My assumption is the devs started with Rift because it's more ubiquitous with VR unless you are already an enthusiast and more importantly that's what the 'other guys' were showing off support for and getting press for in the latest issue of Gliding International
Luckily any work done to support Oculus SDK can (normally) be translated into the OpenVR SDK with ease, which of course is freely provided and maintained by Valve https://github.com/ValveSoftware/openvr

That's aerofly FS2 they're flying. No better VFR + VR sim out there.

I find it quite biased since X-plane 11 has VR support. It is way more advanced than Aerofly.antigoon78 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 26, 2018 10:22 pmThat's aerofly FS2 they're flying. No better VFR + VR sim out there.

True, but Xplane had doubtful performance. AFS2 is still being developed but has stunning performance and looks. I still prefer gliding in VR in LOWI / AFS2 over Condor 2 - despite the sad thermal modelling. When VR comes to Condor 2, that might change.

True, the current performance of XPlane beta under VR is horrendous. Hopefully it will change, the earlier builds were much better in this respect.antigoon78 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 28, 2018 7:25 amTrue, but Xplane had doubtful performance. But to stay on topic. Is it possible to get a hint from the developers about the expected release date or the status of a VR capable Condor 2 version?
