Condor 2 VR
Hi,
Will Condor 2 support VR headsets? If not is there a plan to add support later?
Cheers

Same question from me.
Unfortunately no mention of VR anywhere on the new homepage.
I thought that VR would be 100% in the game since Condor V1 already had such great TrackIR support.

Re: Condor 2 VR
We had so many things to add, please understand we started years ago on Condor 2.
VR is interesting to us, but it could not make it into 2.0.

So far the answer has been no, but wit Condor2 on DX11 it's just a matter of tinkering. When I brought up that the community will likely be very keen get this sorted immediately so long as they didn't prevent it their response was positive. So at minimum, vorpx for now, plus there's @flyingtux who got condor1 working on a Oculus DK2 which will likely lead to at least short term solutions.
For longer term, if need be, I plan on contacting the folks behind FlyInside, and see if they are interested in doing a proper support application for it and what that would take to make happen. For anyone unfamiliar with it, it's a free app that allows users to run FSX, Prepare3D, and X-Plane with full and proper VR support. https://flyinside-fsx.com/
By 'full and proper' I mean the mean headset functions as your real world head -with full 6dof tracking (critical for parallax/comfort) and headset re-centering, but also functions to access menus and use a kneeboard and make checklists etc without taking off the headset.
Another option might be to gofundme headsets for the dev team so they can see for themselves that this is no gimmick. Honestly VR is the only thing that would put this on the map outside a tiny niche of people already interested in soaring. There's few million headset owners are starved for content and the grace to the movements of sailplane flight makes it inherently suitable.

V2 is DX11 so I thought with Vorpx it will be working, but was not... (Oculus Rift CV1). No good 3D, not 6 DOF, specially 6DOF is important more than 3D so for me it looks no good for VR. I can compare with another sims VR compatible (VR was added, was no in previous versions of this simulators) and this is really sad for me, becose Condor is sim No1 for me...it is possible that solution exist.

Is that because the pilots head position is fixed?HornetSk wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2018 6:52 pmV2 is DX11 so I thought with Vorpx it will be working, but was not... (Oculus Rift CV1). Re: Condor 2 VR
Yes, the lack of 6DOF is the problem. But I think teoreticaly the solution exist, so it is only question of time...problem is that the graphic engine of Condor is proprietary, so only developers can do something with it..or can change something there.
I can understand developers that after so much time of hard work they see that people want new things and functions...sorry for that. VR and Condor is my dream for years (some 3D and cockpit dreams i fullfilled me as you know) and after real flyiing in VR (AeroflyFS2) I am not fully happy that i have to go little bit back. I can live with that, no problem...
This was really my last post about Condor and VR, sorry for disturbing.

Re: Condor 2 VR
Even though the omission of VR support Is a big disappointment probably I will still buy 2.0 just to support the devs.
Not to get me wrong, I did managed to get almost all of the new features listed in the graphics section for Condor 2.0 with Condor 1.5 by using these tools:
So DirectX 11 and custom resolutions above 2048 are not a big deal, it can be done without writing a line of code with Condor 1.
This in combination super sampling AA , AF and custom resolutions in NVIDIA drivers ( ex. 2560x 2440) provides a stereoscopic 3D output with great sharpness and detail at a constant 60fps with a 1060 which is quite usable for VR.
I assume that the same can be a achieved with Condor 2.0, however I'm not in front of my PC (business trip) to confirm this.
One huge problem for VR remains and that is the lack of 6DOF ( zoom) and more precisely the lack of setting in Condor to increase the fov my zooming out beyond the default fov. This leads to a very narrow fov with a zoomed in feeling which breaks the whole VR experience in Condor 1.5
The lack of zoom functionality can also be resolved with ZoomTracker:
-https://www.free-track.net/forum/index. ... 321&page=1
-http://forum.condorsoaring.com/viewtopic.php?t=7560. (NOT WORKING)
however the narrow default FOV is a real deal breaker for VR at the moment.
If the developers are willing to provide us with means to increase the default FOV ( whether in settings or cfg) it would not be a problem to get excellent VR experience right now.

Hi,
So Perhaps I will still release my software for Condor V1, Ok it's only V1 but it's 6DOF Steroscopic VR
Question : how many people will be interested ?

For sure it is interesting. But for V2 it should be easy for you to update i think.flyingtux wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2018 11:51 pmHi,

Re: Condor 2 VR
Jean-pierre,
I am most definitely interested. Please don't keep this to yourself! I'd love to test what's there, even if you were not willing to finalise everything in favour of concentrating on doing the same for v2?
Is this a mod that can be used online?
Assume it's for CV1?
Is it payware/donation? I am throwing money at the screen but nothing is happening! Same for the V2 buy page. The devs thought they had a DDOS attack. Might have been just me hitting the F5 key!
Regards
Steve

Re: Condor 2 VR
Have you tested V2 with Vorpx or did I misunderstand your post?
