[SBC2017] Main thread
Hi all,
We are seriously considering the eventuality to begin a new season of the well known SkyBattle CUP Condor Event from November 2013 to March of 2014 ...
Stay tuned ...
And don't hesitate to comment, discuss, propose, etc ... here in this thread !

Whee, highlight of the winter!RaiderOne wrote:We are seriously considering the eventuality to begin a new season of the well known SkyBattle CUP Condor Event from November 2013 to March of 2014
Hope there will be some tasks in the Norwegian sceneries this year
Re: Any SBC2014 on schedule ... ?
Yeees, SBC is a very important Event to come well over the dark winter
Re: Any SBC2014 on schedule ?
Nice!
Maybe SBC team could adjust the race times for this season?
It would be fun to fly the tasks but it’s simply too late for many pilots to have servers start 21.30 local time, wait for 45 mins start gate to open and then only have one shot to get it right as coming back for new start would result in very, very late finish. My suggestions is:
1. Server start time at least 30 min earlier than before
2. Join time 15 min
3. Start in 15 min.
Usually most of the servers are full in 5 minutes, so 15 mins should be enough for joining. The start gate is open for 60 min anyways, so there is plenty of time to get to start line. In my opinion, this does not affect regatta start either unless the task is set to very poor conditions and start height at 2500m (but good task setter would not do something like this to us )
Br,
Mikko

Hi all,
If you appreciate SBC and want a new one, please consider donating for the servers http://forum.condorsoaring.com/viewtopi ... 26&t=12529 if you have never donated before.
At this time, 80% of the cost of the server is financed by french community, while 80% of the users come from international community.

Re: Any SBC2014 on schedule ?
I agree. Although it's not a problem for me currently, I have spoken to quite a few who would like to participate, but can't regularly fly tasks until well after midnight when they have to go to work early the next morning.Mikko wrote:Nice!

Maybe to me this would be the best!
1. Server start 19:00 or 19:30CET ?
2. Join time 15 min
3. Start in 15 min.

Re: Any SBC2014 on schedule ?
At this time we do not have enough money to rent the server for the whole SBC season.
If we cannot rent the server for the winter season, SBC2014 will simply not happen.
So if you enjoy SBC and have never donated before, please make a donation.

Re: Any SBC2014 on schedule ?
Tony, instead of having to beg for money each time, why not introduce an entry fee for the competition?
I don't think anyone will have a problem with, say € 5,00 inscription fee (if that's enough of course...), where everyone with their multi-hundreds, or even -thousands euros costing equipment, can finally do something usefull with that machine!
That's € 0,12 per competition day and a whole lot of fun.
Come on guys....
