.FTR to .IGC

Post by Joost v Veelen » Tue Jul 10, 2007 4:27 pm

You guys know if it's possible to import a .igc file into condor so you can replay it there?

(i don't think so, but it would be nice)

Yep just load it in multiplayer as you would an ftr, click the right hand folder in your flight planner to show the igc files. :D
You do want to fly it again don't you not just view the flight????

He is probably interested in put a RL flight as ghost and then fly against a RL ghost (sounds weird :o ).

Does someone can send me a "real" IGC from an area coverted by Condor?

I would do some testing...

Thanks!

Sure.
I've one from last year that covers the larger part of the Provence scenery.
Where and how do you want it?

I've pm'ed you thermal!

I forgot to say the start must be an airport present in Condor! Otherwise I'm not sure Condor will accept it...

You can download .igc files from OLC!

http://www.onlinecontest.org/olc-2.0/gl ... tId=HAHNW1

Try this link. It will show all flights with launch at Hahnweide!

Click on flightinfo, there you can download the .igc file

Not sure if the original post's meaning was lost in thread.

Whilst it has been established that you use a IGC file to set a task and conditions. I think that there is also a interest in possible converter which will convert igc files into ftr files. I know that this not possible at the moment.

What this does mean that Condor or even real life igc files could be used to provide "ghosts" on Condor. Whilst to some this may seem a bit sad, but we are all Condor addicted and the prospect of using an actual real life racing task igc files to re-inact an real race in which we can compete against actual tracks is something that many may like.

Just my view. Anybody clever enough to produce this converter?

IGC file sent.

As I explained in the answer-PM, the problem with RL converted flights to Condor .ftr files, will be the weather settings and not to forget the resolution of the present sceneries.

What I mean is, even if you succeed in converting igc's to ftr's, anyone using these files as ghosts will probably complete the tasks in half the time.
Flying in Condor is so much easier.

Thank you!

I will have a look to create an IGC to FTR converter, but only next week... Tomorrow, I go to Puimoisson, yee-haa  (and, my luck, it'll be the only days of good weather for this summer ;))

As far as I know, .igc files are smaller in size than .ftr, and based on that knowledge it would be impossible (or at least hard) to generate the missing data and make a .ftr out of it.

Impossible is not french ;)

Some data can be extrapolated (like x,y and z angles of the glider, but I'm not math skilled enough  ) and settings (weather) can be defined manually.

The reason i asked for it is because i am a contest director, and would like to know if it's possible to show flights from competitors in condor. it looks much nicer than it does in Seeyou.
