Test Offline Competition 'Task1'

Post by Fox9 » Tue Jan 03, 2006 8:32 pm

In the attachment you will find the flightplan for task1.
Look in topic 'Offline Competition via Flighttrack-Forum'
for more information.

For one task you can only sent one IGC-file. The use of
ghost-planes are not allowed.

To-Do-List:

1. Load Flightplan, extract it, select a plane in the
preselected class, select your water ballst and C/G.
Other changes of the flightplan are not allowed.
2. Fly the task offline and save the IGC-file. Name it
like 'CN_User' (CN=Competition Number, User your Username
in the forum) and zip it.
3. Sent a short message to this topic (My speed: 120 km/h)
in the forum and add your zipped IGC-file as attachment.

I am looking for the first 10 files and publish the scores
after the number of 10 files are reached. If there are less
than 10 files I publish the score list on Tuesday next week.

Acompetition with one pilot makes no sense. Therefore I stop it.

Sorry to hear that there was only one participant and that it will be stopped.
But I'm curious who was the winner?

That sentence catches my thought..
I don't like to fly alone, I do that enough in RL..
(and sometimes when I screw up I feel lonely too.. )

First I didn't make a post because I don't know how sensitive I can be on a forum..
(you can't hear the attitude by just reading)
But I'll just give you stimulating critisisme...

I think that there are allready too much competitions wich you can join.
People have to choose here, most of them choose for LLC.
Now I also think that organising a competition is only worth it when the competitors give 100% for it.
At first I wanted to fly SkyRace, but I just can't manage it with my time...
Luckily there are still people that fully go for it, else the value of SkyRace's OpenClass wouldn't be worth to keep it going.

So my advice, based on the above is:
Make a poll first and see who is interested in this type of competition.
Then if there are enough interested, let them email you for subscribtion.
(I think this will be less then 50% of the Poll-results, because of the fact people commit to something when they send an email)
Then you should reconsider if you think it's worth a try.
Take in ought that organizing a competitions ask time, quite a lot.
So you should be having fun in organizing, else you shouldn't start imo

Hope I came trough,

Kind Regards, Tim
