If you're using Windows 7 64bit:
-Open up a file explorer window (this can be done by opening any random folder)
-In the address bar near the top of the window paste the following...
"C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Condor"
-Replace "your_user_name" with the name of your win7 user
-If that doesn't work just try "C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData" instead and explore the directories in there until you find the Condor folder
"AppData" is a hidden directory in your user directory where windows has programs stash their data, sometimes.

Re: Can not find .ftr files anywhere on computer?!?!?
I just built a new pc and my ftr and igc are going to the place mentioned in the previous post. How do I get my ftr and igc's to go to the correct place in the condor folder?
Re: Can not find .ftr files anywhere on computer?!?!?
Run Condor as Administrator (right-click on icon -> Run as administrator) or install condor outside of "Program Files" folder, e.g. C:\Condor.wingover wrote:I just built a new pc and my ftr and igc are going to the place mentioned in the previous post. Re: Can not find .ftr files anywhere on computer?!?!?
After puzzling over how to deal with the misplaced ftrs, I decided to try a reload of the condor program. During the re installation, I noticed the automatic load location was program files (x86) in the users folder, not the c:. It was easy to miss since you only see the program files (x86)/condor and assume it is in the C:. After changing the load location to C:/program files (x86)/condor , I had no further problems with ftrs going into a hidden folder.
This whole episode was odd in that I have loaded condor into my computer many times before without this hidden ftr folder issue. So, I don't know why condor started loading into a user folder but moving it back to the c: fixes it.

I just do a search for .ftr They are in a strange place but I create a shortcut and put it in the appropriate condor directory
