Results:
TerryF ASG-29 01:06:02 140.38km/h

BeastFromtheEast Discus 2C 01:17:18 119.90km/h
KentClub & Andy1248 - awaiting results
The low ridge just before the end was a bit of an unpleasant surprise ... it was only about 300' tall, but we were approaching at wave-top height

task 14 03 17
It seemed to work OK.
RobBob Ventus 2CX 01:38:57 149.22km/h
Andy1248 ASG-29 01:52:20 131.43km/h
TerryF Ventus 2CX 01:58:57 124.13km/h
BeastFromTheEast LS 8-s 02:07:10 116.11km/h
Possibly a little overlong and I well and truly caught a cold in the mountains, spending quite a while at crop sprayer altitude. Beastly performance from Robin - staying as high as possible seems to be key to this task.

Re: Return of Beastly Soaring
And not inadvertently dumping all the water after tp1 , I think the co-pilot must have knocked the dump lever whilst dreaming.

And not dumping all the water after tp1, I blame the co-pilot, she must have knocked the dump lever whilst she was dreaming.
Re: Return of Beastly Soaring
Ooops, sorry, gave me an error message after first post so re-typed it
Re: Return of Beastly Soaring
Hi Terry
Knowing what your co-pilot is I would not want them having anything to do with dumping or releasing fluids anywhere near the keyboard or for that matter anywhere else in the house .
I thought cats were bad enough but perhaps you are trying to take 'Beastly' too literally!
Sorry I missed you all again.

Re: Return of Beastly Soaring
I have created a team in the "Gliders in Patrol" competition. Any beastly or UK soarers that want to join to make up a team.
The team password is the usual beastly one.

Re: Return of Beastly Soaring
I managed to create the task hopefully the same as yours.
I have uploaded it to CC as Beastly-Mar17-03.
My problems with the California scenery are due to the task map which is colour and 380+mb causes condor to crash. Therefore I have renamed the alternative Black and White map as the task and PDA map.
To help with navigation of a black and white map in mountainous areas I have used Condornav on a second extended display. This takes the Condor NMEA data through a virtual com port and displays the glider position on the map. When Condornav is started it is easy to load your flight plan and then select a map from the condor scenery folder, in my case the super colour one.
Some pics to show what I mean:

Condornav display with red glider trace.
Zoom screen and NMEA data display.
Two screen setup.

Task 21 03 17
Looks like a nice setup you have there Andy
AndyS ASG-29 01:20:48 172.50 km/h (task 232km not 225)
BeastFromTheEast LS 8-s 01:50:18 122.40 km/h
KentClub - DNF
TerryF and RobBob - TBA
As I suspect people have realised Andy set up the task on his machine from the map above and myself dictating the task conditions from memory while setting off to TP1. Nothing can stop a Beast .... ever

task 28 03 17
Task map, people:
Open class. Only TP limit is max start height 1900m (2950')
See you 1900h.
Task results:
TerryF Nimbus 4 01:38:38 153.10 km/h
BeastFromtheEast ASW-22 01:40:55 149.5km/h
Andy1248 Nimbus 4 01:49:26 138.00 km/h
RobBob Nimbus 4 01:55:25 130.80 km/h
Unfortunately the PC had locked solid by the time I got back from the co-op ...... thankfully I had the leaderboard up on the screen so was able to retrieve my time, if nothing else.
Link to task http://www.condor-club.eu/showtask/0/?id=10406
Thinking of an additional Journey(-ies) of a million miles on Good Friday ..... any interest?
