Task map, people. As requested a shorter one, but will be fairly challenging.

18 metres. Thrashing out the conditions but expect strong north-westerly wind.

A really difficult one ...... requiring a restart as well.

Managed to forget the final screenshot .... but KentClub was the only finisher. I landed after 40km and Robin after 10: by anyone's standards, a very tough task indeed.

Slightly modified the task: and for once I came first ! (although still a long way astern of the record time).

BeastFromTheEast LS8-s 1:54:40 143.7 km/h
RobBob ASW28-18 2:08:13 130.6 km/h

Gets better as you plug on- the idyllic rolling hills around the start are deceptively treacherous.

Unfortunately chaps I am going to have to postpone tomorrow's Beastly session (12 05 15) - it looks like another very long week at work and I cannot guarantee I will be in home in time to run the server.

Sorry.

Irlande (Ireland) scenery if anyone is interested - probably around 200km.

Sorry about last week but work has been pretty heavy going of late. I am off tomorrow so a 1900h start should be possible.

hi Ian,
sorry no reply as I have been at KGC all weekend for mini task weekend..most of comps were scrubbed but did manage a test flight(up to VNE) in the Puchacz and then a 1hr 20min soaring flight shared with the instructor, very difficult conditions ,small thermals only going to c.b. at 1800ft.I was so tired and mildly stressed at the real prospect of land-out that the landing was a trifle scruffy!! Will not be online for the next 3 weeks as Iam going to France for a summer holiday, hoping for a long flight from Versoud gliding club in Grenoble(they have Duo Discus) with an English speaking instructor they have.Take care all.
regards Vince (KGC)

Looks like it might be just me and Robin ......... :(

I am in County Durham next week so there will be no Beastliness.

RobBob ASW28-18 01:37:05 134.3 km/h
BeastFromTheEast LS8-s 01:46:34 122.4 km/h

Well done Robin :)

On checking the joystick afterwards I found the rudder was offset to the left by about 10%, which I will use as an excuse for losing.

The Ireland scenery is quite picturesque and one we will return to I think.

As discussed I am in County Durham next week so there will be no Tuesday soaring. Once again I must apologise for the patchiness of these sessions of late: unfortunately I have had to throw a lot of hours into work, including working on into the evening. With order completion towards the end of June I am hopeful things will ease up a little and allow me to put a little more time into task setting.
