Re: Airspace
Its almost never ok to fly through an active restricted airspace. The penalty depends on what task setter set in the NOTAM. Im guessing you flew Condor World Cup, the penalty there is that you are considered as outlanded on the place of the airspace infraction (as it is in RL competitions). That is why you couldnt turn any other TPs. In other races there is usually at least 100 or 200 penalty points. And yes, you would have received a chat notification from the server, " xxx entered airspace ". And if you press TAB for the scoring table, you would have seen an L in the first column next to your name, L is for landed. (c=crashed, W=waiting, R=racing, F=finished..)

Oke nice to know. Thanks for your fast response
Whats the best strategy to prevent it ? Looking at all airspaces befor the start. Or is there an option to see how high or how low the airspace restricions are while flying ?

Re: Airspace
studying the task before flying is paramount, but your flight computer will also help out. If you use the condor PDA, you will get a warning if you get close to restricted airspace. Same if you use the LX9070, which will have more options like a vertical view, but using that is a topic on its own.
If you have a secondary monitor or tablet or phone, it may also be very helpful to run comomap or xcsoar on that.

Re: Airspace
When I loaded Glider Cup 2025 of the Discord Group "Alpen Condor Community" task #2 this morning the small airspace right past the start line didn't show up. This is one that's from SFC-3,000'. Then I right clicked the map and selected Airspaces Enable All and it showed up. IMHO two things should happen for easier flight planning and navigating: 1) The fpl should change the default map settings if airspace is active and in use. 2) the map should have data inside the airspace like SFC/030 for Surface to 3,000'. Makes it easier than hovering and reading the data block. It would allow printing of the map too for easier navigating.

Re: Airspace
hmm? The FPL determines what airspace zones are active. Sounds like you changed the task by activating an airspace (well, all of them!) that wasnt active?cloudyifr wrote: ↑Fri Feb 07, 2025 6:30 pmWhen I loaded Glider Cup 2025 of the Discord Group "Alpen Condor Community" task #2 this morning the small airspace right past the start line didn't show up. I disagree. With airspace zones being widely different sizes and shapes and overlapping multiple times, there would be no telling what label corresponds to what zone. Hovering works perfectly well.2) the map should have data inside the airspace like SFC/030 for Surface to 3,000'. Makes it easier than hovering and reading the data block.
