West Germany Cup

Post by Maddin91 » Sat Mar 28, 2020 9:10 am

The most accurate Condor Scenery ever is released: "WestGermany3".
It covers Germany from the North Sea to the Lake Constance and from the western borderline
to the Fichtel Mountains. The satellite imagery with a resolution of 16k shows the beauty of
Condor sceneries and the german landscape in new and astonishing brilliance.

We would like to invite you to explore the scenery with us in this competition in which fun is the focus.
Each task will be flown in a different class, always between 1 and 2 hours long.
We try to visit every part of the scenery at least once.
Races every tuesday and Friday.

Development will continue in future. You are welcome to send us your Feedback or problems.
Requests on further airports and landscape details will be implemented in patches.

Looks nice (from what I have seen, im Schwarzwald for the moment, the landscape is indeed very nice) :D

... but the schedule has been clearly made for Northern Europe folks who have dinner at 6 PM, us poor Southerners are de facto more or less excluded, especially the Tchin-tchin aficionados

How about a backup server starting a bit later ?

Very nice landscaape! i have noticed one bug so far: the boberg airfield is completely covered in trees, ripping off your wings during takeoff.

Have fun!

The first race will start today! Some updates to the regulations:

 Password:
  • There will be no password on the servers, even if CondorClub tells you that there is a password! This allows all pilots, registered or not, to join.
 Server Slots & Join Time:
  • Starting today, there will be two time slots: 17UTC and 18UTC.
  • For today, the 17UTC will carry up to 128 pilots, while the 18UTC can carry another 64 pilots.
  • From the next race onwards, these time slots will also be selectable in Condor club and we can modify the server capaities accordingly. (This is not possible for today anymore, but 128 and 64 slots should be a good deal.)
  • Join Time will be until 20mins past the hour.
Have fun with the first race today!

Hi,

This scenery West Germany 3 1.0 just installed on my PC just three days ago is very nice and this race tonight was a fun throwback event to my first big race event (on Condor 1) which was also in Germany.

It was weird and disappointing however to hit a strong sink which forced me to abandon soon after passing TP #1. It reminded me of the bug which occurs from time to time. Note that te varios did not read -5, but -3.6to -4.6m/s. Based on vario reading and from the approximate location it started at 13h53'30" on my track (see links below from condor-club.eu and import of my IGC into flyxc.app using VisuGPS).
https://www.condor-club.eu/analysis/0/?rank=688621
https://flyxc.app/?track=http%3A%2F%2Fw ... &s=20&l=xc

I took some screen shot in VR if you need them in addition to these details. THere is a possibility that my airbreak got inadvertantly open when I stepped away under AutoPilot and got back, but I did not notice it from views or airflow sounds under the vario alarm in negative sink.

Do you think it ispossible there was a bug with the multiplayer session or the scenery?

I will refly the task for practice offline and see if it happens again.

Thank you for organizingthe event and looking forward to the next event.

Update:

Good news, I repeated the task and was able to complete it without any issue. Although the airbrake out key has been long disabled (I use my joystick throttle for the airbrake), it is possible the sink rate was induced by inadvertently having them open when handling my joystick - there is no way to know for sure, and it seems what happened could not be reproduced. Note that I try to use my previous track as a ghost but offline, without the join time, I had to scramble and take the start, over 100m below max 1700m, and before the start wait time was over (actually it was over before I exited the start zone), which was sooner than my ghost start.

Here below are my second track's links from condor-club.eu and import of my IGC into flyxc.app using VisuGPS. I wished I could have posted this completed track for today's race 1h47'47" (137.11 km/h) is decent at my level and with an early and low start. (~:

Thank you for organizing this event on this beautiful new scenery.

Condor Serverlist in combination with DSHelper is broken since the newest updates. I hope for a quick fix.
The Condor Club Serverlist however works fine.

I reopened one of the 18z servers. You can join that one now.

"The Condor Club Serverlist however works fine"

Unfortunately , it doesn't .

Or at least it doesn't for me . I can see many servers and join them but the West Germany Cup is not displayed at all .Really just a minor thing in the scheme of things .
Just reporting things as they are at this end after 90 minutes of troubleshooting.
