condor vr recomended hardware
hi,i would like to ask what kind of specs you have for condor 3 in vr. i have quest 3s, ryzen 5 5600, rx 7600 8gb, 32GB ram and the performance in msfs2020 was horrible. With cesna it was barely playable but gliders have cockpit a bit further away and that made the instruments unreadable. Since there is no option of demo/free trial then i would like to know what kind of performance i can expect from my hardware before i spend the money.

Do you have other PCVR experiences/games that play OK on your setup? If so, Condor 3 should play OK, it is quite performant and is generally is on the lower end of requirements for VR games. MSFS is at the complete other end of that spectrum, Condor is much, much better in VR with a lower end graphics card. You will need to lower resolution in Meta Quest app, and lower Condor MSAA and distance settings, however, if there are big clouds or rain in the flight plan in Condor. Otherwise you might get MSFS like frame-rates in those circumstances, all good if you lower settings.
Another sim (for powered planes) that performs MUCH better in VR than MSFS is Aerofly FS. But I'm convinced there is nothing like Condor in terms of getting the "feel"/physics of flying so right. Moreso, it's an incredibly rich and addictive sim-racing sport once you really get into it.

Re: condor vr recomended hardware
thank you for the reply. i decided to take the risk and bought it two days ago. To me it runs great, i have a lot of fun. For anybody wondering as i did so they can compare their "low end" hardware i leave this:
Everything is sharp and it looks great.
In flight i have stable 45fps per eye and GPU utilization around 80%(GPU MEM: 4752MB. CPU UTIL: 28% RAM:7.5GB), On the ground behind airtow and in it the clouds it drops to 30fps so if somebody mind that there is still a lot of room for turning settings down.
in meta quest link i have refresh rate 90hz and rendering resolution 1.7x (5408x2752)Everything is sharp and it looks great.

Glad to hear it is working well. 1.7x is very (too) high resolution for that GPU. Try experimenting with lower resolution (eg. 1x) and also 72hz. You might find Condor much nicer/smoother when it is running at 72 or 90 fps, rather than in ASW mode.

Ok, I have found out few things. I didn't know what asw was so I did some reading and after turning it off it did make things better but definitely the best was changing UBS cable from 2.0( I didn't know it was 2.0) to 3.0 and now it's so much sharper even in 1.0x resolution. Also msaa supersampling is hard on FPS so I turned it off and I am using instead link sharpening in oculus debug tool which isn't that smooth but better than nothing and it's not eating FPS.

You likely want ASW on (not forced on, but able to automatically switch to it), so that it can fallback to ASW when absolutely necessary in heavy clouds/rain. Just adjust your settings so that like 95% of time you can run 72 or 90fps.
And yes, a USB 3.0 cable is much better.
Myself, I'd lower to 72hz or set visible distance to medium in order to keep at least 2x MSAA. But this stuff is all personal preference, if the jaggie lines don't bother you then by all means turn it off.

Re: condor vr recomended hardware
Hello,
I work Condor2 and Condor3 with this old configuration:
Intel i7 3770 @ 2.4GHz
16Go DDR3 at 1887MHz
NVME Gen3 1To + Samsung SSD 1To with Samsung Magician on SATA3 interface (6Gbits)
Additionnal USB 3.2 Gen2 PCI Express card with 5m USB 3.2 wire cable
Wifi 6E/7
And META QUEST3 VR headset with Microsoft SideWinder Force Feedback 2 joystick + Thrustmaster T Flight Rudder pedals + TWCS Throttle.
That is plenty enough to have fun with Condor2 and Condor3.
