Horrendous aliasing with Oculus 3?

Post by Fingers » Sun Nov 24, 2024 10:20 am

This is on Condor2

Got the Oculus 3 plugged into the motherboard with the Oculus fiber cable, with a 1.4 resolution.

The aliasing is very bad, I was getting a better image quality with my Oculus 2.

Is anyone getting good results with this O3, I've only had it for a day, I must be missing something?

Do you have MSAA turned on in Condor?

I thought it was but will check thanks, that would make sense, the distant horizon looks like Minecraft.

I just quickly loaded it up to see what it was like after getting sick spending 8 hours trying to set it up for my racing Sims.

I can see the potential of this Oculus 3 the lenses are fantastic, edge to edge clarity. But it's not quite there yet to how good I have my G2 setup.

I had MSAA turned off, no idea why.

Got to say now I have had time to tweek and set this headset up I am very happy with it. The lenses are staggering, edge to edge clarity with a massive sweet spot.

So going forward, now I don't need to worry about Condor only supporting Rift. Performance wise, how does C3 compare to C2?

"It depends". Several users report better FPS in "typical" tasks compared to C2. This however, changes a lot when you fly in thick clouds with rain, or when grass is being rendered.

Q3 owner here, flying at 1.3 @72 Hz, 4xMSAA, graphics is excellent.
