Just a warning to all Windows Mixed Reality VR headset users - avoid upgrading to the Windows 11 24H2 release which Micosoft is rolling out currently.
This release removes Windows Mixed Reality (WMR) support, means WMR is no longer included and also not installable anymore and thus renders your WMR VR headset (e.g. HP Reverb) into scrap.

Reminder: Avoid Windows 11 upgrade 24H2 - it removes WMR VR headset support!

If you choose to stay on version 23H2 as I did, you may find useful information on this page:
https://nerdschalk.com/how-to-stop-windows-11-update/
Method 1 doesn't work, windows turns it back on.
In my opinion Method 4 is the easiest, you only need to copy the lines one by one into the command prompt. Don't forget to run CMD as administrator.
Here are these lines:
reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate
reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate /v TargetReleaseVersion /t REG_DWORD /d 1
reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate /v TargetReleaseVersioninfo /t REG_SZ /d 23H2
gpupdate /force
Note that in the end of the last reg line, has to be the windows version you use, example 22H2 or 23H2.
This doesn't turn off security and other updates to this version of windows, so at least as long as Microsoft supports this version you are safe.
We hope, at that time there will be an app / driver avaiable for WMR VR headsets.
