I also wonder if my RTX2080TI will be able to run Qest 3. It runs Quest 2 at full resolution and 90Hz quite OK with MSAA supersampling x8.

A desktop RTX2080 Ti is significantly more powerful than my laptop RTX2070 Max-Q, and I'm still quite happy with what I'm getting. You may not be able to crank everything to the highest possible resolution and frame rate, but you should still be able to get a great immersive experience.

If there's a tradeoff to be made, I might suggest going for higher resolution and lower framerate – In my experience, 72Hz is a perfectly good refresh rate for flight simulation.

2080TI is more than powerful enough. What CPU though?Even at highest settings my 2080 non-TI GPU is like 40% utilized. The problem is that Condor 2 is a single threading 32bit program so it is massively CPU bottlenecked. Objects (ie. busy multiplayer flights) massively bog it down (seems like something is wrong with how much trouble it has with objects) and cause it to drop to 45fps. Or at least this is how it works for me...

I just upgraded CPU from 8600 to an overclocked 9600k, which helped a little bit. I also use "process lasso" to have Condor run on Core 1 at high priority (core 0 gets used by a lot of other processes)

The CPU load seems to be (unexpectedly) improved by resolution however, so I dropped the Oculus resolution to the lowest level to try to get stable 90fps in multiplayer. Need to test a bit more to verify. MSAA setting didn't seem to make difference. Because the lenses on the quest 3 are greatly improved it still looked much better at lowest setting than Quest 2 at higher resolution (EDIT: not true at all. For some reason the render resolution change did not take effect until system restart).

I'm really REALLY hoping that Condor 3 is 64bit multi-threading. That would improve performance massively.

I have a Quest 3, still driving it from my laptop with an RTX2070 Max-Q, so nowhere near its full capabilities (72Hz refresh rate which is honestly fine, not quite full rendered resolution but it still looks great). I was using the original Oculus Link cable that I bought with my Oculus Quest (the original one, aka 'Quest 1') and while it would stay mostly charged, it would lose some charge slowly.

Recently I bought an ' INIU Link Cable' that combines USB3.1 data with USB-C power (such as from the Quest 3's own power adapter), and using that, my headset remains fully charged even after flying for several hours. (I've had some strangeness with the headset discharging while connected to that but with the PC asleep, so now I disconnect the PC when I'm not using it, and it seems charge the headset nicely then, too.)
The limiting factor for normal cables is that the PC USB port power output is limited to 7.5W, which is less than half of what the Q3 charger provides. The power cable you've linked here is definitely the answer people are looking for, although I've been waiting for confirmation from a Q3 owner that they do indeed work as expected, so thanks!

You have to use revive and steam. There are quite a few posts on this forum on how to set it up.

I would not recommend it, however, it adds more layers into the system and it does not perform near as well in my experience.

The link cable will be the easiest and most performant, otherwise use airlink. Why do you want wireless? For charging purpose you can get a cable like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BRQMFDQ3

Thanks, Ive got a nice cable and PD charger etc and know it works ok that way. I've just grown to really appreciate not needing to be thethered in any other sim I use nowadays. For long sessions I wear a battery which is preferable to a cable, especially once I'm in my F1/Sailplane rig and am moving my head around. Besides that if your pc isn't a potato you can crank the image quality higher through Virtual Desktop vs Link or Airlink.

You're right it's not worth adding extra layers of Revive>SteamVR though.. was just hoping I was just missing something obvious to get high quality wireless

Hi there,
a question to quest3 users.

the picture outside the sweetspot is quite blurry. More in condor than in native oculus apps.

I toggled all kind of setting in debug tool (ASW off, Curvature=Low etc) and nvidea panel. Tested different MSAA setting in condor but with no success.

I run a 4090, so it should not be a problem of the gpu.

Do you experience the same ? mayby it's normal? (ps. i use prescription lenses from HonsVR)

thanks

I run a Quest 3 on a 4090 and don't have any clarity issues.
