Pico4VR support?

Post by hkj » Mon Oct 31, 2022 10:40 am

Hello all,

I thinking about getting a Pico4 VR headset but I'm sorta dubious to how (if at all) it will work with Condor2.
Anyone having some experience in this area, please let me know.

Cheers

I have the PICO-4 for one week now.

Try the same setup as for the "HP Reverb G2", it worked for me and I'm very happy for the resolution.

Hello

I bought the Pico 4 but I can't get it to work on Condor2 for several days. Could you please detail how you solved the problem. Thank you :(

Hi I was struggling myself to get Pico4 to work with Condor2 but it is possible and I am having very good results, I am pretty new to VR using quest2 going to Pico it is much better head set, it has bigger field of view and there is not so much eye strain after few hours playing condor, on the downside Pico needs a lot of twinkling ang getting it to work unlike oculus but it still worth i think.
This was the post that help me a lot especially activating tethering -link between my pico4 and PC enabling to stream fast and charge at the same time (Pico connected via usb3 cable) see link below, thanks to phr00t_ for this

https://www.reddit.com/r/virtualreality ... nd_tricks/

so now if I want to start my Condor2 I do following
1. Activating USB tethering (Pico4-PC)
2.Starting Virtual Desktop - 15£ that has to be spend for this to work correctly at least for now( Pico native Network Assistant was crushing my condor after while no matter what I did and also colours where a little bit blurry hopefully Pico will make this better in the future)
2. Starting Revive - bottom right corner right click on Revive and then Inject - > navigate to your condor2.exe file (don't use newest version of Revive as its not working and use 1.9.2.0 version instead this is what worked for me)

hopefully this helps
Good luck

Hi.
It's working here too.
I use Virtual Desktop and the manual here: viewtopic.php?f=43&t=20433

And I following these instructions to pin XCSoar and Cotasa into my Pico4:
https://sites.google.com/view/dsgcvr/xcsoar-in-vr?pli=1

But (there is always a "but") I have some problems using Desktop+.
1- When I set the overlays I need for the game (XCSoar, Cotasa Horizon and Cotasa Data), if I restart SteamVR, it loses the configuration. I mean, the overlays stay there, but they don't capture anything. I have to set the capture option again.
2- I watch that overlay in every Steam app. Is it possible to condition to an app (Condor)?

I'm following the manual using Antimicro & AutoHotKey. Still trying to adapt to the config described ;-)

Any help with this?

(I will post this question in other post)

Can I use the PICO4 glasses in VR mode, activating Oculus Rift in SETUP?
Is there any other possibility that works with VR vision, not as LCD?
As a secondary display, it already works. But if I activate VR mode in SETUP, I get a DIRECTX error.
Thank you all for any help you can give.

I am using a Pico 4 and comparing to Quest 2.
On all accounts for a Consor player Pico is more comfortable.
I have 2 questions:
1. how do I add an overlay in Pico 4, for example XCSoar ? Do I need to use an OVR app from Steam ?
2. when using Condor VR for instructors it is necessary to have a normal screen to follow the student and see what she/he is doing. What are the options ? I notices that with Pico 4 Condor starts playing on the VR but on the PC screen it keeps showing the start-up screen of the flight.

Appreciate if you can share your knowledge.

Bedankt Wieke.
I am experimenting with OVRdrop from Steam and voicecontrol.
