Oculus Quest 2
Dear,
I recently bought the Quest 2 and I tried to connect it to my condor.
But I always get an error if I try to start the flight.
"Error initializing Direct3D. Check setup -> Video options"
And the game runs back normal if I disable VR.
I can start the flight planning but not the flight itself.
Can anyone help me please?
Kind regards,

Hi everybody using VR with Condor 2
I'm a noob in VR. I should like to know if I must buy that kind of hardware when my PC will be updated.
Now, I had read so much incomplete or confusing manners to be able to work this hardware, that I hesitate a lot to buy one.
Please, can someone or a team make a complete and illustrated and proved guide, step by step to start this hardware with Condor 2 and with their secondary soft.
Same Message for HP Reverb G2.
Thank you

Hi ,
It’s easier than expected!
To solve the problem I just updated and restarted my computer.
So now it works great when I start Condor2 directly from the virtual desktop in Oculus App.
If you by the Oculus quest 2 it works really well.
As usual when you are a newbie in this VR world, you have to get used to it before you begin to enjoy the magic. I have no experience, I just started yesterday...
Cheers

Re: Oculus Quest 2
Marczakjak, are you launching Condor 2 normally, are you using Revive/steam to launch it? If you aren't launching via Revive, it probably won't be very smooth (lots of jutters and frames dropping). Every Quest user I've heard of needs to use Revive get it to work smoothly. It is a very big difference in the experience.
Xavier, I will see if I can make a video for this. Its not very difficult and VR is certainly worth any effort.

Re: Oculus Quest 2
Is the 64GB version of the Oculus Quest 2 enough? Or is the 256GB required to work well? Haven’t purchased VR yet...but considering it. Thanks! -Jim

Re: Oculus Quest 2
64gb is enough. Although you can install specific standalone games/apps natively on the Quest, Condor 2 runs on the (powerful enough) PC uses the Link (USB C) cable or wireless Virtual Desktop app to project the game on the Quest.
It would very cool, however, if Condor was ported to run natively on the Quest 2. It could likely be made to work well, and for $300 USD of hardware, anyone could have a simulator and training tool we would have only dreamt of not many years ago!

Re: Oculus Quest 2
So I somehow figured this out. I'd chalk it up to not knowing Oculus as much as anything else. I'm honestly not 100% sure how I did it. I was getting the same error when launching a task in Condor. It took me trying a few times. Finally at one point, I had both the Oculus software and Condor running at the same time. I put on the headset and saw an icon for Condor in the VR environmnet. I clicked on it, it said it wasn’t supported and said how to allow unsupported apps, and I was good to go after that. Since then, it just seems to work as soon as I launch it from the desktop. I did learn that there is a desktop emulation in the VR environment. I bet if I had just tried to launch Condor from there from the beginning if it would have worked right off the bat.
