Yes, the new Oculus headset update does seem to work much better with Condor. I too am being capped at 72Hz, despite my headset being set at 90Hz. Still very usable however.

I was also suprised to see that Condor was displaying the flight on my monitor, when I removed my headset - even though "Mirror Rendering" was not ticked? I don't beleive that has happened in the past?

Hi Chris,

I have built a PC for the VR with Ryzen 7 5800, 32 Go Ram, a Graphic card NViDIA 3070 and NVMe SSD version 3 1To for Condor.

All the input for Condor and Oculus are at maximum level.

I get : 87.6 FPS.

GaphOculus.png

Now I must test this parameters for long flights !

Otherwise I will get back to lower parameters (72 htz & 1.3 resolution)

As you say 72 htz is enough

Thanks again for your precious advices

I tried some tricks to fly at 90hz on condor....unfortunattely no one works.
All settings at maximum on condor, oculus, nvidia...
I don t know why it s not working for me...

Where is the problem?

Your cable.
With Virtual Desktop (and a good wifi connexion), you should have 90Hz.

BOD1, I'm using USB C 3 gen2 cable...
Oculus Link recognize the cable as it is.
I tryed a connection speed test with 1.3gb/s

I don't know how good the compression is when transferring video data from PC to Quest but let's see some numbers:
One full HD frame (1832 x 1920 pixels, 24 bits per pixel) = 84 418 560 bits. For one eye, 168 837 120 bits for both.
90Hz = 90 frames sent per second = 15 195 340 800 bits = 15.2 Gbps. That's huge.
IMHO, in order to send that, the GPU will have to balance quality vs speed, ie 90Hz => bad image, good image => decrease in frequency

I did some tests with 1 good (but noname) USB 3.2 gen 1 cable on USB 3.1 gen 1 port, the official Link cable (fiber) and Virtual Desktop with Wifi 6AX.
USB 3: 1.3 Gbps
Link: 1.3 Gbps (sometimes I got 1.4, but very far from the 5Gbps announced)
VD/Wifi6: 1.6 Gbps

If you look at the sky (blue, without clouds), frame rate should increase. How much do you get? If you check/uncheck vertical sync in condor, does it change anything?

The recent v27 (you have to be subscribed to beta test channel, if you still have 90hz, you probably aren't on the beta) update to Oculus PC software broke 90hz mode. It is stuck on 72hz for the link in general, for any game, even if you have set it to 90hz.

However, v27 fixed the link frame rate sync problem, which is why Condor must now be working with native Oculus/rift mode and no longer require revive/steam.

Apparently, this judder/frame rate sync issue also affected some other flight sims, and some users had actually discovered a fix for it: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/ps ... ues/340217

I am very curious if this would have solved our judder problems all along, so I am going to try to revert to v26 (disable beta) of Oculus PC, and apply the vertical sync fix mentioned in that link. Perhaps I will get 90hz, judder free, without revive. Will report back!

Success!

Applying the fix (pic attached as well) described here to set Nvidia vertical sync to "fast": https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/ps ... ues/340217 eliminated the stutter when using native Oculus mode. No more need for revive.

Reverting to v26 of Oculus PC software also re-enables 90hz mode.

Of course, once Oculus v27 is fixed (so that 90hz works) again, then the above vertical sync setting fix will not be needed.

Yes, it works and such a simple fix! Thanks Ryan! So we now have 90hz flicker free on Quest 2 with no need for Revive etc.

Just to add, I ramped up the rendering resolution to the maximum, 1.7x - 5408 x 2736 and still got 90 FPS, with just stunning images! Really happy :)

I just set in Nvidia settings vertical syn cto Fast

I tryed and the FPS always show 72.

To the ground or the sky with/without clouds, i see 72fps max...

I don't know where is the problem!

For sure 72FPs is flyable...But why it's not workingat 90Hz?

My PC performance is good : I5-10500K, 16gio DDr4 3200, RTX3070...

I bought an other USB cable for new tests.

Reverted to V26...and that's it!! It's working good now!!

Thanks to ryanwoodie and all for the help

I am trying to get Condor 2 (v2.1.6) working using Virtual Desktop on Quest 2.
It always seems to get stuck at the loading screen @ "almost done...".
In the Quest 2 I then see a black screen with 'Race starting in 15:00' and 'press ESC to start'.
The text is in VR space, as I can move my head around it.
But other than this, nothing happens.

I have tried injecting it with the Revive injector (both 2.1.1 and 1.9.2), but 2.1.1 does not do anything and 1.9.2 results in the behavior described above.
I also tried using the Condor Revive Helper (v1.0.4), also with both the Revive versions, but this gives the same result.
I made sure SteamVR (1.16.10) is up and running before starting.

Using a USB 3.0 gen 2 cable, it works fine.

Has anyone experienced the same behavior and was able to solve this?

Uninstall Revive, and try installing version 1.8.0. I have had the most luck with that version myself with Condor.

Thank you for the tip, but this gives the same result for me. Uninstalled Revive, Installed 1.8.0, but still no luck, either with injecting manually and the Helper. I also tried with a previous version of the helper, but to no avail.

Just a plain black screen with the "press esc to start flight" message. When I press esc, I see the dialog/interface and I can begin the flight. I then hear sound (wind/electronic vario beeps) and I can 'blindly' control the plane. So the game is running, just no visuals :(
