Revive sporadic crashes

Post by Tobster » Fri Nov 29, 2019 9:13 pm

Trying in desperation here as my post in Community Support appears to have fallen flat on its face.

I've just bought a new computer, Valve Index and Condor 2, believing it would all work together hunky-dory with the help of Revive. It's not.

viewtopic.php?f=32&t=19343

Yesterday, 3000ft higher, 10km further on task, and 10kph faster than my real-world arch gliding nemesis; I was booted out of our club's weekly VR task thanks to this issue. He beat me on the ladder this year, mostly due to having a trailer that's so awful that landing out his LS-1 simply wasn't an option; whereas I landed out five times, mainly because my Std Cirrus is 1 handicap point behind him and therefore just couldn't stretch the glide to the next thermal. I can't let him win the winter VR league!

Hi, I am having too this kind of trouble.

Like you, "Occasionally (every fifteen minutes or so) there's a slight glitch as if it's going back to the Steam VR loading screen where you can see the two base stations, but it doesn't fully leave the cockpit". In my case, in the second or third "glitch" the sim freezes and an error Condor screen pops up, telling you that contact with the support sending the "error" log file thas has been generated. Then the sim quits.

I have sent the error file to the support (¿Uros?) and explained that the sim runs perfect in my Oculus CV1 and in my Pimax 5k+ (except for the stutters that happens when you approach the cloud base) but in any case the sim crash. I have all the drivers and involved programs (Oculus, Steam VR, Revive, Nvidia driver...) updated.
I hope that the support team could fix the problem quickly, because the Valve Index looks amazing in Condor...but you can´t trust in doing a long flight, because if it crash when you have been flying for a long period, you have to start from the beginnig, you can,t save the flight done.

I feel a little relief knowing that I am not the only one that is experiencing this bug... :(

Goodbye and good fly (If we could... :D

I have solved my problem by selecting "enable OpenXR support" when right-clicking the Revive system tray icon (and ignoring the "this is beta" warnings), before injecting the game.
Two club 100k triangles later and the problem hasn't returned!

Thanks a lot, Tobster.
I did what you said, and it seems the "bug" has disapear. :D

I have been flying for 45 minutes without a trouble. Tomorrow, If i have time enough, I will fly a longer task to try.

Harsh but maybe fair...

I'm having this same problem. Anywhere from 30 min to 1.5 hours in it always crashes on the valve index using Revive V1.9.2. I couldn't get V2.0.0 to inject Condor 2 at all..

I've tried enabling the 'OpenXR Support' and it still crashes.

My quest doesn't crash, but I prefer flying with the Index.
Disappointing.
For those who have it working, what version of Revive are you running?

I am in the same boat and flying offline with the Valve Index and Revive 1.9.2 (2.0.0 crashes). It is sporadic indeed, that is on occasion it goes for a long session fine other times Revive / Condor crashes from the get-go within minutes, other time minutes before crossing the line of a 2h task finish.
No workaround so far, and I have used both a desktop and a laptop. At the moment I am favoring getting my laptop running smoothly with the Index and some help will be appreciated. With some guidance, I could forward log files for review by expert Revive/Condor support during the next week or so.

The artifact I have noticed is some in and out of Revive graphics, like losing one eye or peripheral view, I lean forward instinctively (not sure it helps), but when it crashes for good it is not recoverable, Condor closes or shutdowns.

Interested to hear any suggestions.
Thank you for your help.

It keeps crashing. Usually when I'm doing fairly well in a big online race, Frustrating.

Here's the error message from the last occurrence:
