Hi
I used the tool and it worked fine for a few weeks and then suddenly the joystick stopped working. It works fine using the normal join but when I use the Join VR button on the server list I no longer have any controls. Any ideas?

Hi everyone.

There is a new Revive version (Revive 3.2.0)

viewtopic.php?f=43&t=21520

Quoted:

" In a quick test, running Condor through this version of Revive (3.2.0), streaming the result through Virtual Desktop to my Oculus Quest, everything worked very nicely - including with MSAA enabled I have (tested at the '2x' setting).

This means that it should now be possible, for anyone who needs to use Revive because you're using a non-Oculus/Meta headset, to:
Use the latest version of Revive, instead of the (now rather old) 1.9.2
Enable MSAA for better visual quality"

I have tested in with my Pico neo 3 link HMD and tested the MSAA 8X option in Condor 2 nicely. But I had to "inject" the Condor2 because the Revive Helper doesn.t work.

The Revive helper doesn,t work with this new Revive 3.2.0. I´ve tried to reinstall the Revive helper again, and declare the new path (C:/Program files/Revive/Revive doesn´t exist in this new Revive version) so I tried C:/Program files /Revive but don´t go...

I hope domeone could fix this problen¡m soon...

Looking at the source code for ReviveHelper, ReviveHelper creates a preference that is intended to point to the ReviveInjector.exe program within the Revive installation folder - by adding "\x64\ReviveInjector.exe" to the directory it thinks it has found.

But there's no x64 directory within the Revive installation directory any more.

Fortunately, this generated string is stored in the Windows Registry and can be edited using the Windows Registry Editor, which you can open (in Windows 10 at least) by pressing the Windows key and typing regedit (and pressing Return).

It's stored under Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Prefs\com.cabbagedevelopment.condor2helper./Prefs as revive_injector_path, but you can also simply press Control+F and search for revive_injector_path which should find it.

In my case, with Revive installed in the default location (C:\Program Files\Revive), I changed the setting by right-clicking on revive_injector_path and choosing "Modify" in the context menu that pops up, to the value

Code: Select all

/C:///Program /Files///Revive///ReviveInjector.exe
which makes it work for me - both when launching it from the Desktop shortcut that ReviveHelper created for me, and when launching from the "Join (VR)" button that the ReviveHelper Chrome extension helpfully adds to the Condor Server LIst.

Hello
Just for info. I tried to install revive helper V1.0.4.
When I ran it, my antivirus Free Avira found in it "Drop.Win32.MemMapSelf.122410".

It erased Revive Helper and as I had mentionned the link with Firefox, it also erased Firefox..... Super !!
So, be careful !

Thanks a lot, for your solution, it´s simple and works nicely. Fixed the problem in both Pico 3 and Valve Index PC´s :D

great work @cbrunschen - thank you!

In addition to changing the registry parameter "revive_injector_path" as described here, I also needed to change the parameter "revive_path" in the same location to

Code: Select all

/C:///Program /Files///Revive
to make ReviveHelper work again as expected.

p.s.: Reinstallation of ReviveHelper is not needed that way - I just installed the newest version of Revive over the exiting old one, changed both RegKeys - ready.

@TheGreatCabbage2 - now I have a problem with your great ReviveHelper and Condor3 - it runs into the "Failed to initialize Direct3D..."-Error when using the Multi-Player "Join (VR)" Serverlist button. Strange enough, Single Player VR mode is working as expected. I meanwhile started completly from scratch and reinstalled Windows 11 23H2, Condor 3, WMR, Steam & Steam VR, Oculus Link App, Revive and RiveHelper following the HP Reverb install guide available here in the forum - no success.

Some thoughts:
- Oculus Link App and Revive v3.2.0 (earlier versions also tested) - Revive complains about "Unable to load Oculus OAuth token..."
- Condor3 Log reports that Oculus (OVR) has not recognized the Headset (I have a WMR Headset / HP Reverb):

Code: Select all

CONDOR LOG STARTED AT 16:48:11
Condor version: 3000
[...]
NetPlayer connected: F.Kueper.

ENTERING FLIGHTPLANNER.

STARTING MULTIPLAYER (CLIENT) SIMULATION AT 16:48:29.
Creating window.
Oculus Rift initialization started.
ovr_Initialize OK.
ovr_Create failed with error: ovr_Create: No HMD attached..
[...]
SHUTTING DOWN CONDOR.
Any idea how to solve this?

*** update ***
MultiPlayer is still not working using the "Join VR" ReviveHelper button, BUT
I got MultiPlayer to work with the Revive manual injection method:
1- I uninstalled Revive v3.2.0 and installed Revive v1.9.2
2- I used the Revive built-in Uprade option (right click Revive tray Icon) to update to 3.2.0 again; This time Revive reported a successful install (I am not sure if this was also the case on my initial installation...)

After that, at least the manual Revive injection method is working now:
- Start Condor3,
- copy the IP:port from the Multiplayer portal,
- Quit Condor3,
- inject Condor3/condor.exe in Revive,
- choose Multiplayer from Condor3 menu, insert copied IP:Port
- wait for connect, configure and start Multiplayer session

I'm using Vario AERO. I have the same problem.
It runs into the "Failed to initialize Direct3D..."-Error when using the Multi-Player. Single Player VR mode is working as expected.

On Quest2, there are no issues with multi-player.

Has anyone had success with multi-player on Varjo AERO?

Also do the same, I copy/paste the IP address. It is a bit annoying though.

Hi. I have an update (my own update) for this.
I won't upload it to the Chrome Extensions store. But I can share it with you.
I think the "readme" file is clear enough (I hope so).

If you want to give it a try, you can download it from here: https://bit.ly/C3lse

If you find problems, I'll try to help you.

Ok, @erXino - first of all: thank you, that's working well again now! :D
Besides that, imho, it would be very helpful if you could post a little bit more about what you provide here and how to install it.
Simply clicking a (shortened) download link with almost no details about it is normally not a good idea...
Ideally, your reworked version for C3 could be used by @TheGreatCabbage2 in Git as an update to his tool...

Hi.

Yes you're right.
I understand perfectly your point of view, it could be a virus or anything.
I'll try to update in Github, but I don't know if I'll find time for that.

In the meanwhile, a message for others interested in downloading it .
What you are going to download is a zip file with one readme explaining what's inside and easy-to-follow manual to install it.
This is just un update of the tool that @TheGreatCabbage2 developed few years ago.

The reason of the shortened version of the link was just to make it easier, and, why not, to check how many people download it.
