Hello,

I've just received the newsletter and seen that the 2.0.5 is currently in beta test.

Do you need additional VR beta testers ? I'd gladly apply !

Thanks for your enthusiasm. Beta team is formed from active forum members who have interest in testing all aspects of Condor.. races, planes, landscape creation, installations, etc.., the whole 9 yards. We don't take VR-only testers.

Really great to see this getting the attention. I've been quietly working on my simpit on/off for a while, but this news pushes it back to the top of the list again.

Carry on, good sirs!

Yep, cannot wait for this to be a feature. I'm sure it will bring a lot of new people to Condor

Aerofly is lovely to look at, but just doesn't quite feel right

Thank you guys for making this possible.

I have a couple of questions though:

1. VR will provide true 3d experiences? Not just glorified 2d + head tracking?

2. Will VR-enabled Condor 2 require / support Oculus Touch?

Of course it will be 3D. I'm shocked you think we wouldn't do this properly.

Condor VR doesn't require it and - initially, it will also not support it.

For operating the stick, we think the joystick is still the way to go. It's more realistic to hold a joystick than a touch controller. Especially when using force feedback.

For flaps, brakes etc. touch controller might be useful, but as sailplanes don't have many levers, switches etc, I think it doesn't make so much sense as for motor planes with tens of things to operate. For sailplanes, you can simply assign those few commands to joystick buttons/axes.

With VR implementation, Condor will get the main two benefits of VR: 3D stereoscopic view and free head movement.

As not all Condor users will switch to VR, it would be nice to make that free head movement available for Trackir too

I'll have to learn by touch where I've set various controls as I don't have enough buttons to do all I want.

You can use a "voice command software", like Voice Attack (payware) or GlovePie (freeware)

You launch the program before the Condor 2 sim, (to launch the voice command program you have to load a profile for the Condor 2 sim, you may find it in the web or do it for yourself. It´s easy)

You need a microphone to dictate orders, and if you have Win 7, 8 or 10 there is already loaded the voice recognition program in the Op sis.
Usually, you program a single joy button (it´s like a mike button) so if you press the button and say an order like "release hook" or " release glider", the Voice command program executes the order in Condor and the "R" key is pressed.

So you can use this program to almost any command of the Condor 2 sim, so you only leave the very useful commands to the Joystick buttons.

Goodbye

My Visa is starting to warm up :)
I'm really excited about VR support, waiting this, since the beginning, to jump into Condor 2
Thank you, you took into account your fan base feedback !
