Another way, posted by staylo:

"Interesting problem! It'd actually be quite complex to embed a copy of XCSoar within Condor.

Instead I'd suggest the developers consider implementing a minimal VNC client (program for viewing the screen of other devices) in Condor. The protocol's publically available and in theory simple to implement; basically connect to a VNC server running on the user's device and request periodic screen updates, copying each screen update to a texture in Condor.

The VR representation of the mobile device would be view only and all input would be made on the physical device. Only trick would be remembering exactly where the physical device is, but I'd have thought placing some kind of tactile reference object near one corner of the device should be enough."

I reckon this way is a bit less difficult to do... :?

Buts its not something we can do, what I suggested is something you could do today.
Plus my solution makes using the device a whole lot easier.

To minimize motion sickness, I assume it will support 6 DoF (even when severely restraint in some directions, like lateral movement). Any chance of that being backported to trackir?

Apologies if this has been asked before or if it's a given, just didn't want to assume the answer:

Will Condor 2 VR be 3D?

Is VR support still in development? It was one of the many reasons I bought the game. Me and my Samsung Odyssey HMD are waiting eagerly

edit: It seems it is! Great news :D For some reason I missed the news in the other thread.

Yes, it'll be on Oculus Rift first, so it's in 3D

Damn. I have a vive. Although soaring in VR in Aerofly2 is fun. Just the thermal model that sucks.

Hi all,

Waiting VR in Condor 2, people having an old Condor V1 licence and an occulus DK2 or CV1 headset can try this addon (6DOF and stereo enable):

We VIVE owners can hope it will work with REVIVE. I can gladly test this if needed! :D
