Re: Condor 1 VR
Hi Foxy,

Did you install oculus runtime ? Wich version?
However, I'm affraid that an nvidia 960M is a little limited for such application ;-(

Re: Condor 1 VR
Dear Jean,
are Condor V1 and V2 very different? V2 is DX11 so one problem is resolved I think. Is creation of similar software for VR for Condor V2 so complicated?
And have another question too: how is you software working? (principes of it) for me it is very interesting how it is working . Many thanks
Peter

Hi JP.
In fact yo run Condor 1 I use a company ASUS ROG (that all the manager a shy to use in public) that is 3 years old.
I would like to move to VR and Oculus, but I would like to test at the VR works. Of course a system upgrade will be mandatory.
By the way if I disable Intel device, the VR give me ... "Basic Microsoft Device Driver".
Sorry for bother you.
Lorenzo.

First :
What says Condor (not CondorVR) when you go to its setup ? I mean, which Graphics Card name is written on the panel, graphics tab ?
Second :
Did you succeded in oculus firmware installation (version 1.24 or above) ?
Did you already run an other VR application on your laptop ?

Re: Condor 1 VR
What I know on such computer it is impossible to install oculus home for CV1. Generally M graphics and Prime technology are problem.
Re: Condor 1 VR
Dear JP,
thanks for support.
Actually on this machine I run Condor 1.1.5 that work properly.
I do not yet install any Oculus device, but I have in plan some tests to do it.
From you answers I realize that it is nit the case to go on with hardware platform.
Do you have any suggestion for a good hardware configuration that support Oculus and Condor 1 VR?
Thanks.

To complete the answer from Peter, I will add some precisions about CondorVR specificity.
1 : Forget Laptop if you can, take a true PC with an nvidia card like NVIDIA GTX 1060 6GO or above (I'm using GTX 980TI 6GO)
2 : CondorVR do a bridge between DX7 and DX11 and to do that needs too fast speed on some other components:
- Fast PCI Bus Speed PCI3.0 16X or above (it's the graphics card bus)
- Fast RAM Speed 8GO DDR4 2666MHz or above (I'm using DDR3 1600MHz)
- Prefer SSD to HDD for the loading time (i'm using ssd too)

JP

Re: Condor 1 VR
Hi guys,
This evening VR4Condor did a world premiere with HornetSk.
We flew together in VR and some other people during almost 2 hours on FR35 server inside the beautifull AA Scenery.
It was very nice, HornetSk took some screenshots of this event
Special thank to Condor Team for their amazing Simulator and to HornetSk for his wonderfull support !
Cheers,
flyingtux

Re: Condor 1 VR
Hello flyingtux,
Sorry but when I press on "Run Condor VR" nothing happens. I can run "Condor Classic", but not VR.
I read the entire manual but I have no clue...
Thanks in advance,
Best regards
Note: My specs attached

Re: Condor 1 VR
Hi, just a quick message to deeply thank you for this great achievement.
This simply changed Condor for me and made it a completely different simulator.
As far as I am concerned, no particular problem on windows 10 with Oculus Rift CV.
Except a black box that sometimes starts showing after some time (behind the 9-3 o'clock line).
Again, very good job !

Re: Condor 1 VR
Hi reno1763,
Thanks for you post,
In my softare I add 4 degrees of freedom for the head motion. But for the two original axis (azimuth and elevation), I kept the original limitations of condor V1. So the rendering stops to turn (in bottom and rear zone) and the CV1/DK2 compensate it and you see the "black box" or more exactly the screen borders. Note too that in the demo version, head motion is time limited in azimuth and elevation. That's normal.
I could do something but I did'nt receive enough returns to continue the development and the IRL season has begun !
PS : There is an unlimited version reserved to some enthusiastic contributors. Write to vr4condor@gmail.com if interested.

Flyingtux
