Hang Gliding Simulator "Freeflight Experience"

Post by Cloudhopper » Tue Mar 15, 2022 1:14 am

For the past year, I have been developing a simulator focused on training and attracting new Hang Glider Pilots. It has been in closed Beta from several months, and is approaching Open Beta. There are two features that exist in Condor that I would like to add to my program: MultiPlayer support and alternative methods of spawning thermals. I would like to have a technical discussion with Condor developers familiar with the techniques used for determining the trigger points from thermals that does not require significant manual effort.

The present implementation in Freeflight Experience models thermals as complex 3d flow fields, and supports soundings to be downloaded for modeling temperature, humidity and wind profiles. Thermal physics are in good shape, but the thermal sources are presently specified manually at the time the maps are built. The sources then heat or cool based on insolation energy balance.

Can someone please ask someone from the Condor Dev team to reach out to me?
