Winter flying options
Winter flying options
I'm looking for some fun options to fly this winter. All our clubs gliders and the winch were stored last weekend and will be in maintenance until early march. I'm looking for some options to do some winter flying if possible. I've got a Schleicher K6 available to fly with. Do you guys have any fun options in the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium (or even UK). I know about ridgeflying at Porta Westfalica and I'm keeping a close eye on the wind forecasts. No luck so far. Any further options are more then welcome .

I heard about this "Ridge flying" at dutch dunes. :

And of course, you can fly 100s of hours in bombastic weather, fly wave and in modern gliders for free, simply sitting behind your monitor

Thanks Tim!
I managed to fly 4.5 hours in Porta on sunday so I have my fix for now.

So, let's say I would spend a week in southern Germany next winter because some colleagues, family members and I are planning to rent this townhouse in Kollnburg, Bavaria for a week, were could I take my wife to fly a little over the Alps in a glider? I can either rent a twin seat one as I've got my license, or book 2 seats in gliders piloted by someone else.
