Newby advice

Post by billy1000 » Thu Oct 04, 2007 3:42 pm

Hi people keep tellying me that they are working on a particular glider and sending it off to the development team. Where can I fly them as only one plane pack is out? And I thought they said that there were no 3rd parties?

There aren't.
Anyone can design a glider for use in Condor up to a certain stage and send it to the Condor developers.
They will asses the work, suggest updates or modifications to the designer and when it finally meets the high Condor standards, the developers will finish the model and add the correct flying characteristics to it.
The procedure is described in detail here:
http://forum.condorsoaring.com/viewtopic.php?t=3

Designing a model that looks and flies right, is a tremendous amount of work. Some models never even get finished, because of that.
It would be nice though, when a designer keeps us posted about the progress, specially when the announcement was made that the work was sent to the developers...

Planes

Post by billy1000 » Fri Oct 05, 2007 12:05 pm

Thanks for that.

I believe you when you say they are hard to make. All those detailed cockpit controls and the plane exteriors look like a lot of work has gone into them.

And for the flight charactaristics, well the only way of finding this out is to speak to someone who has got one or flies one regularly, and if you are making an unusual model, this makes it even harder.

Good luck to everyone who is making a plane. I will have a little play myself.

Does any know if this project is alive, dead, or in need of help?

YES Desktopsimmer, please-please-please start on the ASH-25 - would be a nice contribution in adding planes to the open class.
Eh......and please the 26m with tall winglets version

Crossing fingers.

Ulrik, 3W.

Once I've textured the Antares18s, I ask Lecso to see if I can carry on his work. If there is no reply in a reasonable time, I'll have to start the project from scratch.

Well, I not flying this year, lack on funds is the main reason why. So I have to waste my 'free time' some how. :) My Plan is to complete the Antares 18s (may be the 20e without motor), move on to the ASH-25. The Taurus will be a 'while' I'm waiting project ;)

Glad to hear you still on it Lecso, hope it goes well. If you're using Wings3D and need some pointers, drop me a PM.
