'Glow' of PDA screen
The PDA is illuminated when the sun gets low. How can this effect of emitting light be duplicated in other objects?

Re: 'Glow' of PDA screen
Hi Greg ,
I have not played with these value like you for .cx files, but the .x structure for material is very similar to .cx files but with different value.
For example in "ventus2e.x" (external view of ventus2 plane ), or ventus2I.x (internal view) you can find the material from "ipaqscreen.bmp"
Material {
210000.0; 210000.0; 210000.0; 210000.0;;
210000.0;
210000.0; 210000.0; 210000.0;;
210000.0; 210000.0; 210000.0;;;
TextureFilename {
"Planes/Textures/ipaqscreen.bmp";
}
}
}
}
----------------------------------------------
Material {
210000.0;210000.0;210000.0;210000.0;;
100000.0;
210000.0;210000.0;210000.0;;
100000.0;100000.0;100000.0;;
TextureFilename {
"Planes/Ventus2/Ventus2.bmp";
}
}
}
}
}
This look very similar to cx files , the secret of "glow of pda" is certainly here, since I didn't not find other materials with 210000.0; 210000.0; 210000.0;;; , but in a plane there are ~60 materials in each plane !!)
Good luck for testing,..I have no more the skill for this..

Re: 'Glow' of PDA screen
I just made a test with the 3 of 6 materials in the ventus2I.x for the "cockpit.bmp" putting the same value as "ipaqscreen.bmp" That work..

Now you have to find what you want , because I don't guess what are the 60 material in a plane, or the 6 materiel using the cockpit bmp in inside view.
That's all for me..

Also work for CN on outside view....

Not very useful since other pilot don't see your effort to make your plane more visible....

Re: 'Glow' of PDA screen
Only just saw this now Patrice thanks for looking into this. I did eventually find what I was looking for; see my threads in scenery about .cx values.
Whether the possibility of creating luminence or 'emission values' will still exist in the V2 object format we will be switching to remains to be seen. It would be great if it does.
