Inaccuracies in JS3 3D model

Post by arneh » Tue Nov 05, 2024 8:14 pm

I'm just trying to recreate my JS3 as accurately as possible with a new skin, but I notice some innaccuracies. So if you at some point update the 3D model, here are some things I would like to see improved.

The main wheel doors opens much wider, it's very characteristic for the JS3. Also the main wheel appears to be wider in real life:

The bug wipers are not as long as in Condor (and also in this picture you can see how much wider the doors should open):

I'm trying to recreate the characteristic red wheel rim that many JS3s have, including mine. But then the disc brake also turns red, as it uses the same part of the texture. Could you separate them? The same with the tail, wheel, it also turns red, but is not red in real glider (on my glider the tail wheel is blue!). Also the brake caliper has a different shape.

As a JS3 RES owner myself i would appreciate the fixes on the model very much :)
If needed I can provide detailed photos.
I also would have some points on the inside, wich I will post in the other post of Arne (JS3 bug wiper switch is in wrong location) regarding changes in the cockpit.

Please do. Especially shots of the bugwiper controls as I can't find any online, so I'm holding on the changes until I have better pictures.
