Re: ASK -13
I completely understand the excitement for the ASK-13—it’s such a charming and iconic glider that holds a special place in many hearts. But if we think about what would add more variety and value to Condor right now, the AS33 really stands out as the next logical step. While we already have excellent modern gliders like the JS3 and Ventus 3 covering both 15m and 18m classes, the AS33 offers something unique: a combination of cutting-edge design and performance that brings fresh energy to both classes. It's not just another option—it’s a new standard for versatility and competitiveness.
The ASG29 is fantastic, but it’s only available in the 18m configuration, which leaves a noticeable gap. The AS33 bridges that gap perfectly, offering both 15m and 18m configurations in a single platform. This makes it ideal for both those looking to hone their 15m skills and those flying in the 18m class. It’s the kind of glider that would appeal to a broad range of pilots, from those chasing records to those exploring their potential in high-performance racing.
The ASK-13, while lovely, feels like something we can look forward to a bit later. We already have great vintage and training gliders like the K8 and Ka-6CR that provide a similar vibe. Right now, the AS33 would really complement the fleet by adding a next-generation option that pilots across the board can get excited about.
Let’s keep moving the platform forward and bring the AS33 into the skies—it’s what so many of us are dreaming of! The ASK-13 will surely come in due time, and we’ll all enjoy it when it does. For now, though, the AS33 feels like the right choice to take Condor to the next level

Re: ASK -13
My vote goes to the ASK13 first. It is an icon in the gliding world. And it brings back the nostalgia of the original Condor.

Re: ASK -13
If it's going to be an ASK-13, I'll buy it just the same.
Our club is still using them for ab initio training towards solo.
It would be great to use for winter training our students!
I also hope some fun ASK-13 cross-country competitions will appear.

Re: ASK -13
The ASK13 would only be owned by a small subset of players, which competition organizers avoid. You could allow school class and limit handicap (so you dont have to face a DG1000), and the blanik would be available to everyone and is close enough in performance I think it, could be fun. Im sure 6266 will make some tasks for this, .. but no PDA probably.timbaeyens wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 2:29 pmI also hope some fun ASK-13 cross-country competitions will appear.

Re: ASK -13
Of course the ASK 13 will be a valid plane in the Vintage Series, like all planes build in the first version until 1982 (today all planes between SG38 and Pegase). And should we get one day the DG300 or another interesting plane behind the border, the border will set up to 1983 or even later

So you can fly all these nice planes including the ASK 13 offline around the clock for to participate, and once a month we have a multi player flight where everybody is welcome too.
But our tasks are different from what you all use. We define the weather and the task type, that's all. Fly where you want, task starts with release, time limit 90 minutes. See the rules on the web side.
Probably no PDA? For sure no PDA

Sorry, that was a little bit OT, but I was "forced" for a bit commercials

The ASK 13 will be the second Condor plane (after K8) I flew IRL, but only in the 3 practical flights to get my license 42 years ago. Very nice plane, good to get it here one day.
