Stemme S12 flaps speeds

Post by Bre901 » Thu Oct 15, 2020 1:19 pm

There have been some questions about the S12 recommended flaps speeds

BTW, if you have a general question, ask it on the forum, not by PM, so that everyone benefits from the answer

There are no recommended flaps speeds in the flight manual and the developers and beta testers have been unable to get any information on that topic.

If one looks at S12 cockpit pictures visible on the web, not a single flap-ring is to be seen.

Hence, as until now the flap-rings that were made by wickid were based on "official" RL data, there will be no flap-ring for the S12

Nevertheless, I have been able to determine some values from test flights, which are used in CoTaSA :

+5 > 90 kph (MTOW: 95)
0 > 120 (125)
-5 > 150 (155)
-10 > 210 (220)

Disclaimer : those data are educated guesses (rounded to the nearest 5kph) based on the performance of the flight model, I wouldn't recommend them for real-life flying.
However the flaps +5 limit seems relevant as the best climb at MTOW at sea level is obtained at 115kph with flaps +5, according to the flight manual.
