Re: Stemme S12
When I try to purchase it, it is adding 22% tax, what is this?
I do not want to pay the extra 22% tax if this is not correct, can anyone explain please?

Re: Stemme S12
Interesting addition. A Super Dimona or Fournier RF5 would also be thrilling.
Re: Stemme S12
Hi Team - Thanks -Stemme is great, but what about the climbingrate, i can only get around 2.5, its supposed to be near 4, isn't it?

Bernie, you posted the question twice which is rude and useless
I removed my answer on the other post, here it is again

Are you sure you were in a zone where there was no sink ? Gear up ?The flight manual says +3.28 m/s with flaps +5 @115kph, MTOW, at sea level

I just saw your edit and was going to say are you buying through a VPN as different countries have different amounts of tax applied. Good to see you noticed what it was Congo.congo wrote: ↑Tue Oct 13, 2020 5:56 amWhen I try to purchase it, it is adding 22% tax, what is this?

Re: Stemme S12
Excellent le Stemme S12 surtout en VR
Un "ETA" serait le bienvenue.
The ETA glider is a two-seater autonomous glider with a wingspan of 30.90 m in the so-called "Free" competition class. To date (2008) it is the largest and most efficient competition glider with a fineness of 70 (for 1000 meters of height lost; 70 km covered).
It owes its name to the field of technology where the Greek letter "eta" denotes the yield.
Three copies have been built to date. In September 2003, the prototype No.2 was lost during a test flight following a structural failure, the machine having been pushed out of its normal flight envelope, without damage to its two pilots. who were able to eject and use their parachutes. Of course the machine was modified and the flight tests were continued without problem.
The device will be built in small series; a production of three copies per year is scheduled.

Re: Stemme S12
The ETA doesn't reach it's advertised performance due to excessive wingtwist at higher speeds. Also it can't reach the high wingloadings that the EB29R can attain. Therefore it is hardly ever flown in the WGC these days. Also still only 3 have been completed AFAIK. I think the last one was build around 2015 and I doubt it will be put into serial production.

Re: Stemme S12
Many thanks for Stemme S-12.
Glider part is very nice and I cannot wait till the aircraft part is completed as well.
Have a great day and be safe

Re: Stemme S12
As pointed out in the posts in PLANES, there is a small bug which causes that other gliders equipped with engine no longer start.
It will oblige me to practice the flight in stemme a little, but so pleasant. moreover we have a co-pilot to discuss.
Next time I would like a girl glider pilot.
Already 2 flight with from Challes.
Great for gliding in the Alps.
And interesting for landing and taking off (full lap)
It maneuvers very well on the ground.

Re: Stemme S12
As mentioned in the first thread about the propstrike bug, you can still take off with a towplane and start the engine when a few meters above ground

Re: Stemme S12
Stemme S-12 is a very unique and complex aircraft indeed. As the manuifacturer says it is two aircrafts in one - a sailplane and a light sport aircraft.
In top configuration with full glass cockpit, electric trimmer and autopilot it fullfils definition of complex aircraft (glass cockpit, retractable gear, variable pitch propeller). So it is not just motorized glider as for example DG-808c or ultralight motorized glider as Pipistrel Taurus.
From my point of view, if I bought an aircraft for simulator I want to be able to fly it as closely as in real life as possible which is not the case for S-12 right now.
Thats why I am looking forward to the day when I am able to operate each and every switch and control in Stemme S-12 as in the real life. Until then it is rather arcade gaming than the serious simulation for me.
