New Planes and skinning/livery making

Post by congo » Tue Nov 06, 2018 6:27 am

I know it's not a high priority, but if it is possible to make the skinning more accurate by spending
a bit more on development time to get it right, I would greatly appreciate it.

It takes ages to develop a workable template for Condor2 liveries. Even then, alignment
for each livery must always be done by trial and error, a real pain and time sink.

Alignment issues and hidden items for the artist are my main concerns.

Split fuselages, port and starboard differences, control surfaces to flying surface mating all present
challenges. Also, some parts are not identified on the available templates.

Reverse Mirroring for airbrake caps get a mention as well as the inability to skin top and bottom of
tailplanes seperately etc.

One glider has what seems like a 6 to 8 pixel deadzone between the rudder and fuse on the starboard
side, and a 1 pixel overlap on the port side, just for example.

The more options and accuracy the better for painters :)
I will continue to make ugly skins otherwise !

I do understand that plane development is in many hands, and that standardization is not completely
possible, what I ask is that you don't rush through this design phase, and try to eliminate skinning issues
if it can be improved on within reasonable time constraints, as the impact on artists is considerable.

Pixel Perfection
Thanks for considering :)
