The Astirs get nicknames like "Concrete Swan" and "Fat Albert", but I was always delighted to fly them, as they
offered great comfort during long flights.
I believe that the Concrete Swan is Twin Astir, not CS. :)
Yes, it was indeed in reference to the Twin Astir, which I also had the arm muscles to fly with prowess :)

BTW, the original early 1970's Astirs I'm talking about, not the multitude of later sister designs. The CS and Twin would make a nice addition to Club and two seater classes imho. But, alas, I am no modeller, maybe one day.

Astir CS was my first glass plane.

Its on the list to be made, but it's not yet started due to other tasks having priority. Maybe I'll get to it in the summer.

So, its time to start the new winter project. Since our Astir CS is stored for winter, away from airport, I need all the pictures, from all the possible angles. :D But it specifically needs to be the version of Astir CS as the one bellow.

I have found this template, but Its distorted a little, so not exactly usable. If someone finds a better one please share it.

YEEES!
Finaly you start with making the Astir.
It will be much fun to fly it in Condor.
I did my first longer thermal fligth (3 1/2 hours) in an Astir (D-7832).

When is the Astir CS. Take my money already.
Also offering flight model testing for it if required, I can pretty much jump in and out of the real one and test the condor version within 2 hrs and then jump in back the next day etc

If you have fast access to it and its the correct Astir CS version, you could make a ton of pictures for me, from all possible angles and things. :D

could this help?
And what do you think about making this instrumentation?
It's my club's Astirs's one.
(had to rebuild it, because I had no picture at on my pc)

it's this model, the original Astir CS - no jeans, no '77, just Astir CS.
Also, we will NOT talk about a certain detail in this picture.
Move along.

I have reasonably easy access to it within the next 2-3 weeks (currently it is stowed behind an LS-4 which is stowed behind an ASK21, and it needs cleaning)

PS

I told you not to mention the detail. It's the only pic I have at the moment, I lost the original somewhere on my old phone.

Yes, and that is the factory paint scheme without the unmentionable exception.
