Does Diana2 have buffeting?
Yes, it has in Condor2. But real fill size Diana2 does not. The articles about Diana2 in SSA magazine tells too.
In addition, slip and skid of Diana2 does not make any noise. Slip/skid noise is too much in C2.
I wonder whether the builder of Diana2 model has ever flown real one.

I'm sorry but I don't know who modelled the Diana for Condor 2, but I am sure they are going to feel really great after reading your post!! It makes me really angry when someone takes 30 seconds out of their time to complain. How about you show a bit of gratitude to the guys who put hours of hours of work into these models. Even better how about if you go and buy yourself a Diana 2 and then you can fly it without the buffet and with out the slip noise.

I wonder whether the autor of this topic has ever flown real one... at 280+km/h. Well, Sebastian Kawa did.CazYokoyama wrote: ↑Fri Mar 30, 2018 11:00 pmI wonder whether the builder of Diana2 model has ever flown real one.

Take a close look to tail and wings. Maybe You mean that there is buffeting because of stick shaking animation - dancing tail can also cause that. Just at different frequency.
About sounds, it is hard to tell something when each Diana-2 is different princess. I have good contact with some pilots of "RP". They say that its gives many sounds.
Re: Does Diana2 have buffeting?
We sadly do not have the chance to fly ALL the planes we build for Condor. If you did, tell us what is not correct and maybe we are able to change it. Not just complain what seems to be wrong, tell us what is wrong.
As an old Condor Pilot with much experience, you should have noticed, that the Sounds are the same for every plane... But as you have good and clean ears, feel free to edit them and give them to us. We can then put them into the next patch, if we like.
For me personally, it would be very nice to get kind of recording sessions inside and outside the real planes. But that is hard to do and we should do it for all the planes then.

I'll upload video to youtube by Contour camcorder. Stall of Diana2 is hard to detect, no stick shake, no vibration. ASI just moves up and down quickly.

Re: Does Diana2 have buffeting?
Disregard. It has buffet at 71km/h when it is 603lbs/274kg, i.e. with no water, 145lbs/64kg pilot and 10lbs/4.5kg parachute. I had the first of the season flight on last Sunday. When I pulled the node slowly, it has buffet vibration at 71Km/h on straight flight.
My impression until last year was
- does not have buffet
- No nose down on stall
- nose and tail sink at the same rate, i.e. flat.
It seems all stall I had until last year was on thermal circling and my sense went to others instead of feeling buffet.
BTW, I have 417.2 hours on Diana2.

With a side threat it would be possible to detect stall precisely:CazYokoyama wrote: ↑Tue Apr 03, 2018 11:38 pmI'll upload video to youtube by Contour camcorder. Stall of Diana2 is hard to detect, no stick shake, no vibration. ASI just moves up and down quickly.

Carefully designed laminar flow fuselage and people start sticking pieces of string all over it ruining the performance. All sailplanes I have flow have ample stall warning like controls become slopy, buffet, high pitch (this one ofcourse not in an accelerated stall).JShieck wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 3:51 pmWith a side threat it would be possible to detect stall precisely:CazYokoyama wrote: ↑Tue Apr 03, 2018 11:38 pmI'll upload video to youtube by Contour camcorder. Oh no, if I open the canopy window my L/D drops by 3 points!?wickid wrote: ↑Fri Apr 08, 2022 4:23 pmCarefully designed laminar flow fuselage and people start sticking pieces of string all over it ruining the performance. I'm quite sure a second string on the canopy wont ruin the performance.
(And if so the positive effects will outweigh.)
Re: Does Diana2 have buffeting?
Strings on the side by about the same amount. It ruins the flow to the wingroot.
