Hi,
I am quite worried about performance of Diana 2 glider in V2.
As we can see polar graph L/D ratio is independent form wing load (as it used to be assumed), which is not correct - especially for Diana.
Due to relatively low wing chord - it operates at low Re value.
By taking ballast we archive => more wing load => more speed / higher Re number => less profile drag and more parasitic drag.
As we are still at low Re range - power curve gives us handicap and we can soar at higher L/D with ballast in Diana2 - because parasitic drag is still to low to overcome reduced profile drag.
We can see it on Diana2 polars here:

Is it modelled in V2?
Have a nice day.

I know this is an old thread, but the aircraft in the sim behaves as described by the polars here?
The polars shown in the link show the aircraft has BETTER L/D the higher the wing loading, and this seems to also be true in the sim.
What's the problem?
