I know that this may be a silly question and that the answer is obvious. I can currently UV map objects for export from Wings 3D where I have created a UV texture file and this works OK. It is the method I use to create my scenery objects.
However I am trying to create an object which does not have a UV map, one where I have allocated a material colour to each surface. The colours are visible within Wings 3D. But when I export as a Wavefront object and use the Condor object editor there are no colours on the object and when viewed in Condor the object just has a single default colour.
This may be me being very lacking in Wings 3D basics but is there a way of doing this?
Wings 3d export object
Wings 3d export object
Condor CN = E20
Re: Wings 3d export object
As far as I know, you cannot have several materials on a single object in Condor.
Re: Wings 3d export object
Hi Andy,
To complete DGTFER, answer you must have only one material per object:
But no UV Mapping, that is no Texture map, so no colour on your object. That is normal.
Just do a standard UV Map ;
Segment by projection
Projection Normal.
Create Texture with correct options
Then Export to wafefront
When you save your ".obj" object, a texture map is automagically made and save by Wings 3d with your coloured faces in the current folder.
Open Object editor bind you texture map and do as usual etc..
