HusBos Airport on GitHub

Post by be_adairing » Mon Jul 01, 2019 12:30 am

Just in case anyone is interested i have published the HusBos blender based airport on GitHub.

https://github.com/be-adairing/Condor2AirportHusBos

I'm sure there are many improvements to be made but i'm told it's good to share! FYI I am not including the blender exports or c3d's in git because they are just derivatives of the blender file.

My next improvements are to reduce the number of trees by moving them to the forestmap (they are the primary cause of airport being so large).

Hi Andy - yes indeed! So you can actually fly it. This version has a couple of little fixes in it. I find Git to be a really good tool for version control (funny that) and so i thought if i was using git anyway i should make it public in case it's useful / I kill myself on my winch launch / why the hell not.

FYI The released one has a fault with the concrete/roads so I have removed them. The draw distances cause the concrete/road to 'shimmer' at large distances and anyway you would crash if you landed on them, ironically the hard runway would also do this so i had better not land in the winter.

Nice objects.

Are you planning to do the grass and asphalt surfaces. Would be really nice with them.

I did do the asphalt but I had draw distance issues (flickering at a distance between the asphalt and underlying texture). I did raise them a little but it didn't seem to help.

Thinking about it now - should they have been placed in the G rather than the O c3d? (probably named correctly like the grass & runway?)
