Airport Template File and Instructional Video for Wings 3D

Post by m24tom » Thu Nov 01, 2018 1:42 am

Hello,

I made a template or starter file for making airports in Wings 3D. The file contains runway digits 0-9, threshold markings, centerlines, wind circle and pattern marking as well as three windsocks of various sizes.

It is available to download from my Google drive here.

I have made a video showing how to use the file to "quickly" make an airport.

Hope this helps others!

Great video and template. Massive help to newbie Condor 3D modellers like me.

I have been struggling to grasp the basic concepts of 3D modelling and this is very clear and helpful.

By the way that California scenery looks excellent.

2 things.

1.
Would you be able to add the used textures as well?
  • auvBG.dds
  • auvBG10.dds
Rest of my first airport is made. For a newby Wings3D is so much nicer then Blender...

2.
Seems your runways do not align with the maps below. Mine does the same. How do you solves this?

That looks great! But that helicopter in the lower right may have some issues taking off :)
