I don't want Grass.dds (because desert). How to ?
Hi,
My scenery landscape is desert and rocky. There is no grass ... but sand and rocks.
So I want to change the default 'Grass' in the .....G.c3d
Something else : I think that Condor select always the default Condor2\World\Textures\Grass.dds Mmmmm
How is it possible to make a custom 'grass' ? ... and export it as dds (I do not know the .dds type settings used for the original Grass.dds)
Thanks
Andy

Re: I don't want Grass.dds (because desert). How to ?
Currently impossible. Even if you assign a texture to your Grass object, it is ignored and the system one used instead. But you can have an airport without grass or asphalt, just with the markers.

Yes Andi you can modify your Grass.dds file located in World/Textures, and save it in DXT3 format. but all the grass airfields in all sceneries will be affected.

Hi Janos,
It is what I did but it could be better with customizing
Thanks. Andy

I can see how it could be possible to replace grass.dds per scenery.
But that's the easy part for us.. the hard part is for you to do.
grass.dds is a tilable texture. It repeats across the areas, approx 1m squares. You will have to find or make a tilable sand/rocks texture which doesnt have a visible repeat when its tiled.
This is not a simple thing.. the grass took days to get it like it is, and to me its still not as perfect as I would like.

If found very nice seamless textures (see Tom link - thanks Tom) so it could work well.
So, how is it possible to change de default 'Grass' 'Grasspaint' etc. please ? And to change also Condor2 (to avoid using default /World/Textures/...)
Thanks,
Andy
Re: I don't want Grass.dds (because desert). How to ?
Andy, this change needs to be implented in the Condor engine. If it is implemented, it will be in one of the future updates.
