Hi,
Is it possible to recreate an airfield in Condor to assess if I can land there in RL with my glider? Is there anyone that can do it for me?
I have a Stemme and I am planning to base it during summer in Portugal, The only airfield that I have found a hangar place Aerodromo do Cerval - LP55 has a tricky runway for the 23m wingspan. High trees on the sides, just before the runway, and a reasonable slope in one end of the runway (the same end as the trees). The real runway has around 600m, and not the 330m as per AIP. I need to ensure that I am higher than the trees on the approach, and as soon as the trees end, I need to maximize descend rate and decrease speed to be able to stop before the end of the runway.
The airfield exists in Condor, but it's nothing like in RL. I bought MSFS2024, on purpose, but in spite of the airfield being very close to reality, the Stemme flight model is just a joke. It doesn't work. I just wasted my money buying a game, not a simulator! The Stemme in Condor flies pretty much like in RL, so I just need a close enough airfield representation in Condor.

Be aware that, while the flightmodel in Condor tries to closely represent the actual plane there may be inaccuracies. Always use the approved flight manual calculations to see if the plane can actually take off and land on the airstrip you intend to fly at.JFonseca wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 9:15 amThe airfield exists in Condor, but it's nothing like in RL. In theory is certainly possible to land and takeoff. From my small experience with the Stemme, takeoff is granted, but landing in a no wind situation might be a bit tricky. In Google Earth it also seems possible. But has almost everything in flying, I prefer to practice a few times first in the sim before trying in RL. This process allowed me to book the PPL test before I even completed the 45h of training. I just sent all the documents, after completing the 45h, 2 days before the exam date!

For me, the best of both worlds is to have a FI in RL, to correct the mistakes, and practice in the simulator. Using only the simulator can lead to bad behaviors that will be hard to loose afterwards in RL eg. Not looking outside because you are used to look only at the instruments in the sim.
