Airport direction

Post by 6266 » Sat Oct 22, 2022 12:25 am

I have a strange problem. I created an airport, direction 184 degrees. Starting Condor, heading 4 degrees. Ok, change the settings to 4 degrees, heading 4. Tried 284, heading 284, tried 84, heading 264. Tried heading 4 degrees and the option Primary dir reserved, heading 4 degrees. I can change all parameters, but never get a heading 184. Some angels are correct, some others are 180 degrees wrong.

BTW, until now I made 11 landscapes with together 910 airports. So it's not my first airport. Tried reboot, deleted all other airports, only this one left (imported before 347 airports in this landscape, maybe too much). No success. Maybe the program doesn't work correct late in the night ...

Re: Airport direction (Solved)

Found it, yes, it was too late. Usually I fly tasks with less wind (Vintage Series to avoid from ridge riding), but yesterday I flew another task. Upper wind speed 15 km/h 300 degree, airport height over 2000 m. Of course, the start direction depends on the wind. Setting lower wind I get the right direction ... boah :-D

Launch direction indeed depends on the wind direction. Primary direction is used when the wind is low (less than about 5 to 10 kph).
