Some landscapes are too dark

Some landscapes I downloaded are too dark and it is easy to impact the terrain.

Anything I can do in the setting or elsewhere to make the landscapes more colorful and with better ambient light?

Edit the .dds texture files. Or change your monitor settings...

Possibly you can turn off the dynamic shadows in the ini-file for the terrain.

Editing the .ini only removes the shadows. And it might kick-in the anti-cheat when flying online...
