Mini Provence

Post by Andy1248 » Sun Sep 16, 2018 9:12 pm

As I like flying in the Sisteron area very much, having been there once in the eighties and that the Condor 2 Arc Alpine is probably still some time off. I have made a rough and ready Mini Provence scenery for my own enjoyment. 10 x 10 tiles, no airfield objects and textures with a fair amount of clouds on them. So not a scenery of a high enough standard for general release. But would there be any interest for this in its rough and ready state if I make it available on my Google Drive?

Provence-18

Beta Version 0.90

This scenery is for use on Condor Version 2 only

It is a "Rough and Ready" scenery produced in very short time for my own use only.

I am making it available on my Google drive for anyone else that would like to use it.

The scenery is nowhere near the standard of those sceneries on Condor Club. The textures have quite of lot of clouds on their images. The airfields have very minimal work on them. The thermal map is very basic.

This is uploaded to my drive as Beta V0.90. If I can improve the cloud spattered textures then I will and any changes updates will be uploaded to the drive as a patch (0.91 etc.).

Hope this will fill a gap in your Condor 2 flying until the better Alps sceneries come along.

7zip Files

The scenery has been compressed using 7zip software (available free).
It has been zipped into a archive which consists of 4 files with the suffix 001, 002, 003 and 004.

Download from the Google Drive all four files. Link to drive:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sjXds78tp2

Using 7zip software select and extract the Provence-18.7z.001 file only.

All the remaining zip files will automatically unzip.

Extract into a separate folder.

Check that the scenery folder structure is correct, i.e. there is not a scenery folder name inside a scenery folder name.

Copy the scenery folder into your Condor 2 "Landscapes" folder.

Thanks Andy !!

Indeed Michel DGT prepares the scenery Arc Alpin for condor2, but the scenery is huge and I guess it still requires a lot of time before it goes out!
Your provence scenery for condor 2 is highly anticipated by many pilots. Many of us fly in real life in this beautiful region.

So, even if it's a Beta version, I find it very well and so you can publish it on condor-club so you can perform network flights.
Thank you very much !
The Condor community will be very happy. :D

Congratulations for your work.

Thank you Zou for your encouragement. I aim to fix the cloudy textures in the near future and when done will add to Condor Club unless a more tallanted designer beats me. Time is the big thing. I literally threw this scenery together in 2 weeks on a whim that I wanted to soar the Gache and Lure again.

Two factors affect the time, my age I am getting on a bit and my love of golf which during this scorching summer has been delightful but not good for scenery building. 😂

I have made a patch Version 0.91 which corrects a texture alignment problem around the St Crepin area.

Download from the Google Drive - File 'Provence-18.7z'.

There is an updated 'readme.txt'

Link to drive:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sjXds78tp2

Using 7zip software select and extract the Provence-18.7z file only.

Unzip and copy and paste 'textures' folder and other files into your Provence-18 Landscape folder.

Hi Andy...
Since you have included a new "Provence-18.trn" we will also need new corresponding HeightMaps Files : ! about ~ 20 .tr3 files or we will have a non flyable scenery..!!

Ooops! Sorry about that.

I have just uploaded a new 7zip file that contains the 'HeightMaps' folder.

Hope it works OK. Let me know if it does not.

Nice to know that some are using this scenery.

Working now on getting rid of those pesky clouds.

It's now OK , and look far better from Saint Crepin to barre des Ecrins than v0.90... :D

Hi Andy

Thanks!! Great work!

I installed version 0.91 but run into a issue though
See picture.
Black scenery mini provence.jpg
Any idea to solve this?
(The standard Slovenia landscape runs OK)
I also noticed a complete blanc screen while loading the scenery.

Million thanks in advance!

Jan

Version 0.91 is a patch for version 0.90. You must install v0.90 with all the textures prior to the patch...or you will miss all textures not in St Crepin area.
