Try to only use the default map on the PDA (don't change it in the briefing).

I confirm that (had the same problem last week).
Condor handles 24-bits maps only if they are loaded just after opening the .fpl

Fortunately the default map is actually quite good :D

Hi
Just change the map with a drawing program like Gimp or Acrobat to 32 bit
Worked for me just fine.

I converted all the maps to 32 bits with GIMP 2.10.22 (all sizes are now 92MB), but it still doesn't work

I'll try it with paint.net when I get home from work.

Well, I couldn't figure out how to convert 24-bit to 32-bit in Gimp or paint.net, but I was able to see that the 24-bit bmp was SouthernNorway4-texture.bmp. Renamed it to .bmp1 so it won't be an option.

After 5 download attempts I am unable to extract the files with either 7Z or WinRar. Get a message (unable to open archive files)

Any help appreciated

All the Southern Norway (.7z.001 trough .7z-008) files must be downloaded before uncompressing.

Right click on the file with extension .7z.001 and select 7-Zip->Extract files ...
The files should be extracted to the Landscapes folder.

7-Zip will process all the files in one run.

Hit the same problem today with the Landscape I'm making. And with the Norway 4 map too.

First tried Gimp to convert 24-bit BMP to 32-bit XRGB BMP, and it didn't work. Then I added Alpha channel to the image and saved as 32-bit ARGB, but still crashing.

Hmm... Some searching for the 32-bit BMP brought up this little tool: Pixelformer http://www.qualibyte.com/pixelformer/download.html

And it did the trick! Importing my BMP's and Exporting as A8:R8:G8:B8 (so, I guess same ARGB), and it works nicely with Condor 2 - I can chose alternative maps and start flying with the map of my choice on PDA.

Just one more hint: if you open 24-bit BMP in Pixelformer that hasn't been converted to ARGB yet, there will be no ARGB Export option either, unless you click Image -> Properties and select 'RGB color with alpha channel (32 bpp)' as Target Color Format.
